Sunday Morning

Chapter 21 by Anonymous51 Anonymous51

The next morning, I woke up, still with my head resting in Kyle's lap. I smiled, watching him sleep, then glanced over at my smart-phone lying on the floor next to the couch. Grabbing it, I immediately noticed the date and suddenly made the realization that I had spent almost the entire weekend hanging out with my new friends, and Kyle. I didn't even go home after school on Friday. And now it was Sunday! I had made sure to text my parents that I was staying overnight at Claire's house, but that was just for Friday night. Checking my texts, I saw nothing from Mom or Dad. Was that odd? Did they just assume that I was still hanging out with my new friends? The only recent texts I saw were from Bobbi and the rest of the peacocks, and Kyle, of course. There were numerous texts from the peacocks giving me fashion and makeup tips, even giving me links to YouTube videos that they thought I'd like, or find useful. But nothing from my parents, let alone Brian or Michelle. It was like everyone was in their own world this weekend.

By the time Bobbi woke up, I was already dressed and heading out with Kyle.

"Leaving so soon?" Bobbi asked, pouting. "We've got a great day planned out, sweetie. You shouldn't miss out on it."

"Sorry. I ... it's just that I've been away from home since Friday and ..."

"Homesick, huh?" Bobbi said.

"No, it's just that I've never been away from home so long, hanging out with friends. My parents are probably a little worried about me." Though I wasn't sure if that was true. "I mean, I only told them that I was sleeping over at a friend's house. I didn't say anything about being out for the whole weekend. Plus, you know, I still have homework to catch up on and ..."

Bobbi waved his hands dismissively. "Of course, I get it. Go do what you need to, hun. But you need to make it clear to your parents that from now on, you'll be spending more time outside of your home than in it."

"Ready, babe?" Kyle asked, holding the door open.

A thrill ran through me upon hearing him call me "babe". If a guy had said that to me a week ago, I think I would have felt weirded out, but right now, I couldn't love this guy more. I loved being his "babe". If that didn't confirm that I was gay, then what would? The thing was, I didn't much mind that. Funny that I didn't realize my true sexual orientation until arriving in this town and meeting the peacocks, and then Kyle. Little did I know, before I came here I was 100% straight. But now, because of the effect this place was having on me, I now thought that I was in denial about my orientation and that the peacocks and Kyle had helped me come out of the closet and embrace my true self.

After arriving back at my house (which I had spent about as much time in as I had at Claire's), Kyle walked me up to the porch and gave me a long passionate kiss. Afterwards, I kept my eyes closed, with a big grin on my face. I was in heaven!

I opened my eyes and watched as Kyle headed back to his car. "Call me!" I shouted to him.

He waved, smiling, then got in his car and sped away. I just stood there, watching his car until it disappeared around the corner. Then I took a deep breath, turned and rang the doorbell. Since I had just moved in, I didn't have a house-key yet.

I glanced down at myself and suddenly became a bit alarmed. I was still wearing the girly clothes from earlier. I didn't even think about changing out of them. And my face! I was still wearing make-up! How was I going to explain this to my ...

The door opened, revealing my dad. I just stared, my attention completely off of myself.

"Dad? What are you wearing?" I asked my normally masculine father. Though, really, he could probably ask the same question about me, though he didn't, for some reason.
