Suggest climbing trees

"What if we go into the trees."

Nala looks back at you, visibly angry. "Into the trees? You want me to carry you and a rifle up a tree? Did you get brain damage after the wolf bit you?"

She turns, looking through the scope. "They've definitely spotted us. They'll try and corner us both. My best chance is now to eliminate them and hope they get spooked."

She fired the gun. "Fuck. I missed."

You sit patiently, waiting to find out if you're going to be eaten by wolves or not. The gun fires again. You see three wolves, now rushing towards you. She fires her last bullet; the wolf's head splits open. The remaining two hesitate, but continue to run towards you. Nala stands up, holding her rifle like a stick.

"Get back!" she shouts. She makes herself as big as possible. "Get back you devils!" One of the wolves gets too close, and she whacks the beast in the head. The two wolves seem to hesitate. You can see that they're looking for an opening between her swings and shouts. But she doesn't provide one. The wolves back off, searching for easier prey.

"Nala, John". In the distance you hear your names being called.

"They must have sent a search party. Maybe they heard the gunshots."

"We're over here!" you yell. Within moments, a party of nurses armed with rifles and flashlights arrives. They are all hot.

"What happened?"

"John was wandering the woods alone, and we were attacked by wolves. His leg needs serious medical attention and he's not going to be able to walk back."

The nurses get started in patching up your leg. Then they fit you into a stretcher.

"Are you going to listen to me now?" Nala says.

"Yes. I shouldn't have talked."

"It's one thing if you want to kill yourself by doing stupid shit. Don't drag me into it."

"I'm sorry Nala."

"And think about these nurses too. Do you think they want to search the woods for a dead body? For two dead bodies? And what about the ammunition? Do you think we'll have enough to protect the facilities if dumbasses keep wandering into the woods? We don't even have enough to practice shooting."

"You're right Nala, I was being selfish."

For the rest of your walk back, Nala brings up everything you did wrong in detail. You have **** but to agree or apologize. As soon as you get back, you overhear Nala telling the other nurses she's taking a break.

You're in a different room, another hospital bed. Your legs are covered in bandages. You have a lot to think about.
