Chapter 9 by Zeebop Zeebop

How does Sue Storm answer that question?

Sue Storm Considered A Breast Augmentation, But Decided Against It

The Invisible Woman hesitated. Her mouth tugged down at the corners, her gaze drifted from Dr. Stone to the carpet. The psychiatrist poured the last bitter dregs from the tea pot into her cup.

"I did," Sue said. "After—after I had Valeria. My breasts had gone up a cup size, as they had with Franklin, but they also sagged a bit more, and there were stretch marks. So I—consulted with a cosmetic surgeon. Discussed options. Ultimately, I decided it wasn't for me."

"And why is that?" Dr. Stone said, as she brought the lukewarm tea to her lips.

Sue Storm didn't want to answer. Moonstone didn't need her enhanced gravitimetric senses to tell that. Yet as Doom's implants buzzed in her skull, the villain worked to lower Sue's inhibitions. She was sure there was a lever here, a way to manipulate the Invisible Woman. If only Sue would open up to her.

"I won't be offended, Susan," Dr. Stone said.

The blonde heroine sighed, and her shoulders shrank.

"I didn't—I didn't think it was appropriate for a woman of my standing to have a breast augmentation," she said. "I'm a heroine, a respectable wife, a mother, not..."

"Slut?" Dr. Stone offered.

Sue's mouth clamped shut, but she nodded her head. Moonstone could sense the terrible embarrassment that came from that tacit admission.

"Of course, there are many reasons a woman might get a breast augmentation," Dr. Stone said. "Tits are, barring lactation, strictly cosmetic in the grand scheme of things. Some women want theirs bigger for purely cosmetic reasons. Others suffer injury—breast cancer for instance—"

The Invisible Woman raised her head, eyes wide.

"Normally, the mastectomy and breast augmentation are two separate operations," Dr. Stone said, with a tight-lipped smile. "But my surgeon is confident in their abilities, and I convinced the medical insurance it would mean less hospital time over all."

Sue's mouth opened, unable to put into words what she had thought about Dr. Stone, her reasons for getting her tits done.

"It can be very difficult, Susan, to overcome our innate prejudices. The fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter why I'm getting implants. In this case, I feel it is necessary. I wouldn't—feel like a woman, without breasts. And while I'm getting implants anyway, I decided to get a modest upgrade," Dr. Stone's smile was tight-lipped. "It's not like I'm going to be out pole-dancing and taking my clothes off for money."

"I...guess I can understand that," Sue said.

"What about you?" Dr. Stone pressed. "How would you respond if you suddenly got breast cancer, or suffered an injury? Needed surgery? Would you consider a breast augmentation then?"

How does Sue Storm respond?
