Chapter 15 by Zeebop Zeebop

Does Sue Storm tell Dr. Stone about her visit to the strip club?

Sue Decides Not To Tell Dr. Stone About The Strip Club

"Anything exciting happen this week?" Dr. Stone asked.

"Well, Johnny...had an encounter with a plasma-based entity, and accidentally triggered its binary fission, which nearly ran out of control," Sue gave a tired smile, and reached up to tuck a lock of blonde hair behind her ear. "I wish I could say it's the first time his romantic adventures have nearly destroyed the world but, you know. He's still young. Sowing those wild oats."

Dr. Stone blinked.

"I'm sure. But that's your brother. Has anything exciting happened with you?"

It was almost as if she knew. Sue let her smile fade, a millimeter at a time. In truth, she still didn't know what possessed her to go to that strip bar. What she did know was that she wasn't prepared to talk to Dr. Stone about it. As much as she believed in the therapy process, the situation was still too soon, too raw. Sue needed to process what happened first.

She would tell Dr. Stone when it was time.

Sue let out a breath.

"Yes. I can't really talk about it now, I'm still processing. But I will want to talk about it at some point, when it's a little further in the past."

Dr. Stone's lips pursed, obviously nonplussed. For a moment, her glasses flashed, bright circles of light that caught the sun's rays just perfect, so that they seemed to glow from within. Then, the moment passed, and Dr. Stone smiled.

"Well, I understand. I hope you do trust me with it at some point. That's what I'm here for, after all. To help you. You believe that, don't you Susan?" Dr. Stone said.

"Yes. Yes, of course!" Sue said.

"Good. Now, that's about all the time we have for today..."

Sue blinked, her brow furrowed. It seemed like she'd just sat down. The heroine glanced at her phone as Dr. Stone busied herself putting the tea cups away. She was amazed to see that the entire hour had passed, even though it felt like only five minutes had passed.

"If you don't mind a bit of advice," Dr. Stone said, in a conversational tone, softer than her more professional voice. "Whatever you experienced that affected you so...it's obviously upset you. Sometimes, the best thing to do in that situation is to revisit the place, person, or experience. To reassure yourself that it isn't something to fear or upset you. I don't know if that's applicable in your situation..."

"It...might be," Sue Storm said, as she slipped her phone back into her purse. "And I might just do that. Thank you, Doctor."

"Please, Susan. Call me Karla," the psychiatrist insisted.

"Karla," Sue repeated.

The Invisible Woman walked out of the office with the feeling that she was forgetting something. Yet there was renewed determination too. She knew what to do now.

She was going to go back to that strip back and confront her issues head-on.

How does Sue Storm's second trip to the strip bar go?
