Sue laid back on the table inside the medical facility of the Baxter Building. She still felt uneasy around her teammates. She hated the looks of revulsion she got from them.

Reed had taken the team, including Sue and Amphibius away from the Savage Land. When Reed had given the order to restrain Amphibius, he struggled at first. Sue had initially stood in front of him ready to fight. But she felt the warm, albiet slimy hand of Ampbhibius, on her shoulder. "No my mate," he pointed to her teammates, "they fear what they cannot understand!"

Amphibius had given hiimself up. As he ws placed in a holding chamber he looked at Johnny Storm. "If any harm comes to my mate, I will destroy you all!"

Johnny grimaced, "STOP SAYING THAT!"

Later, Sue would tell her team she was held against her will, and ****. Part of her believed that. However, she felt a twinge of anger and pain at the knowledge that Amphibius was being treated in such a manner. She kept it to herself. She had barely talked on the way home, occasionally holding her protruding stomach.

Now, Sue rested in the lab as Reed checked her vital signs. Reed shook his head, "I'm sorry Sue," he looked at her, still dumbfounded at the predicament, but glad his wife was home, "we can't terminate the pregnancy at this moment. It's too far along!"

The thought made Susan sick. Had that been an option. She thought to herself. Reed had never asked what she had wanted.

Reed tried to comfort his wife. "We will have to wait to destroy them after the birth!"

Sue shot up, "YOU CANNOT! THEY'RE LIVING BEINGS!"

Reed looked at her confused, "But they're the spawn of an unholy union with a villain!"

Sue wanted to crush Reed's skull with her **** fields at that moment. She decided to be more diplomatic. "Please Reed, we can't kill them!"

Reed nodded. Even though it disgusted him, she was right. They were living beings. "I will construct an incubation chamber!"

For the next few days, Sue walked around the Baxter Building. She felt that this place was different now. All the technology seemed to frighten her. She found herself one night in the lab, looking at the incubation chamber. It looked so cold, and mechanic. It felt wrong. She then heard a sound, that no one else in the building seemed to hear. The growl of Ambhibius from the lower floors. He was trapped like a rat.

Sue shook her head, "snap out of it," she thought. You're home now. But her mind fought the idea. She remembered the lilly pad where she had been a captive. "It wasn't much," she thought, "but it least it was comfortable." She rememberred the small nest Amphibius had built. A nest for whatever grew inside her. It was much more warm then the incubation chamber.

Sue wondered how Amphibius was doing. She actually felt sad for him. So alone, and without "his mate". Sue found herself smiling at Amphibius' term for her. As she put her head down to sleep next to Reed's, her dreams brought her back to the first few days of the lilly pad.

Sue was on the beach watching Amphibius attempt to catch fish. After last night, when Amphibius had "taken her", she knew she should have ran. Something inside her told her to stay. Her stomach rumbled at her hunger.

Amphibius searched the waters for fish. He brought up a big one and threw it onto the shore. The frog-man walked over to Sue and pointed to the flapping fish. "Eat!"

The villain known as Amphibius spent the next hour making a fire. He used sticks to create a spark. It made Sue almost laugh out loud. Reed would have used some sort of techno-lighter and had it lit within seconds. There was something oddly comforting in watching Amphibius make a fire the old-fashioned way.

Later, Sue had found herself sitting by the fire next to this creature. She should have been scared, but she was not. The Savage Land was changing the way she thought.

Sue finally spoke up, "What do you want with me?"

Amphibius bit into a piece of fish. "What any animal wants, a suitable mate to rear his younglings!"

Sue shook her head in disgust, "NEVER!" She started to get up, and felt her stomach rumble.

"It's far to late for that pretty one!" Amphibius smiled. He sensed the girl was ready to make a run for it. With a mighty gulp he bellowed out a call.

The sound reverberated off the trees around them. It seemed to hit Sue in her very core. She felt her stomach rumble and her throat swell. She fell onto her ass. Fear fell over her as the mighty frog-man walked over to her proned body.
