Substories: Introduction

A figure entered a cave as the sun was up in the air, their breaths panting as they tried to get air in their lungs. They then move a bit deeper into the cave and sit down on the floor, relief from finding this place before dark.

“Just managing to make it here I see?” A voice spoke out, catching them by surprise.

“No need to worry, I won’t harm you. I know you are inside the cave. Come deeper.” The voice spoke out. The figure got up and headed deeper into the cave. They walk for a few seconds until you see a shiny Ninetales sitting on the floor, whisking something within a bowl.

“Another survivor I see. Needing sheltar from the roaming infected?” The fox asked, her bag nestled at her side, packed for a journey. “I was about to leave until I sensed your presence.” she explained, “Though now that you brought them here, it put a little snag in my plans.” She stated, continuing to mix things around in her bowl.

“This pandemic that we’re facing. It caused a lot of chaos to everyone around the world.” She spoke out loud, as the figure just watches her messing around with it. “You probably heard about it in the papers, about how someone appeared, looking sick, passing out, and coming to as a ravenous fiend. Many victims it created, as well as many stories that followed, an as a soothsayer, I see them form in my mind.” When she poured a mixture into the bowl, smoke started to float up from it.

“Those seeking to find the truth and stop this, those just trying to find a way to make it to the next day, those **** to see someone they cared about be lost…” The smoke started to take form of various Pokémon, “A handful of Pokémon with a goal in their hearts.”

The figure sat down on one of the large pillows, looking intrigued at what she was saying. “I seen their stories, and their outcomes. Seeing as we’ll be here for some time, how about you listen to their tales?” The kitsune asked, as the smoke started to take form of various Pokémon. “Focus on one of the silhouettes and I’ll share with you their tale.” The Ninetales stated to you.
