Strike

I arrived at the bowling alley. I was actually excited for a night out. Wouldn't admit this to Heleth but doing homework was slowly killing me, I only continued to piss her off.

"You know I can read your thoughts right?"

'Fuck, I forgot'

"So we don't have to finish the homework tonight?"

'You forgot I'm still in control don't you?'

"Point taken"

Walking through the bowling alley I go to find the lane my friends were at. Unfortunately something else seemed to be going down. Jesse and Viv were arguing.

"Fuck Jesse, you know exactly what I'm talking about!" Viv screams

"No I don't, you said it didn't matter!" Jesse tries to deflect

"That's not the point, I ignored it for you!"

Heleth says something, "seems like trouble in paradise"

'Yeah I probably should try to break it up' I reply to her back

I walk up to the both of them and try to say something, "so..... bowling guys"

"NOT NOW ED!!" Both of them say in unison as they continue their argue

'So much for that I guess' I think to myself

"Yeah clearly," heleth leans her head on my shoulder.

This continues for a couple minutes, me standing there awkwardly. I don't even know what the argument was about. Before Viv storms off.

"Viv wait!," Jesse yells to no avail.

I sit down next to Jesse, "you okay man? That seemed pretty intense"

"Yeah I'm fine," Jesse says clearly lying. He held his face in his hands. It's strange to see him like this, he was tall 6'4 and very toned as well. He was a varsity player for our basketball team and it was strange to see the giant put his head down.

"What happened?" I say trying to be sensitive to the situation.

"Just an old argument came up, it's my mistake" he said solemnly, "can you make sure she gets home alright, I'm sorry about the bowling"

"Yeah I'll make sure" I say as I see Heleth grinning in the corner.

I walk out the alley, and run to catch up to Viv. "So alone time with your buds girlfriend"

'Nows not the time Heleth' I say back as I finally catch up to Viv. It wasn't hard to spot her. She had a pretty distinctive look. Her long red hair stood out against her petite body in. She had some small but pert tits. And a tight little butt. She had both her arms wrapped together as she shivered. Her legs shaking outside of her skirt.

I take off my jacket and put it around her, "you need to learn how to dress for the weather." I say to her.

She looks at me mascara running down her face, "thanks I was supposed to have a ride home, but you know how things turned out"

"You alright?" I start to walk with her.

"I don't know," she looks down at her feet.

"What happened?"

"You should really talk to him about it" she sniffles

"I did but he didn't want to say anything about it. I think he needs time alone, so he sent me to make sure you get home safe."

"Of course he wouldn't come after me himself"

"Its not like that Viv"

"It feels that way," we cross the street, "thanks for coming all the way out here. By the way."

"Its no problem, sorry our plans didn't work out" I try to apologize

"Its not your fault, you didn't get into an argument with me"

We continue walking together in silence until we arrive at Vivs place. "You gonna be okay at home?"

"Yeah I'll be fine, thanks for keeping me company"

"Its no problem, I know I'm more Jesse's friend and you and me don't hang out much. But I don't mind keeping you company." I start walking away. The streetlights lining the street.

"Hey Ed!," Viv comes running out to catch up to me. She looks up to me, her head being at my chest, "Its cold out and you forgot your jacket."

"Oh thanks," I say as I take my jacket back from her.

"And your right, we don't hang out much. So I think we should, wanna hang tomorrow after school."

"Um sure Viv, I don't really know what we'll do."

"Its fine, I'll figure it out," she hugs me, "thanks Ed, for keeping me company."

My arms hug her back awkwardly, "I'll see you tomorrow then Viv." Viv walks back into her house and I start my walk home in the cold dark.
