Straight to Nurse Joy's desk!

You begin the day rested and full of energy. There’s no time to waste! You’re finally back to your routine of beating Gym Leaders and collecting badges like the Pokemon Master you’re destined to become! You race through your morning routine, throw on the lace-up tube top and hot pants from yesterday, and dash down the stairs. You’re just about to leave the Pokemon Center, but Nurse Joy grabs your attention.

“Oh, Emilia! Could you come here for a second?” You walk over to the counter, unsure of what she might want. “Here, this is for you.”

She hands you a chocolate candy. You narrow your eyes at her and ask, “Why?”

The nurse looks to be at a total loss. “Uh… I need a reason to be nice?”

No rudeness? No mockery, insults, or predictions of failure? “I-I guess not. Thanks Nurse Joy!” You beam up at her as you unwrap the candy and pop it in your mouth. “Mmm!” Sweet and delicious, exactly as chocolate should be! As you enjoy the mouthful of candy, Joy pats you on the head comfortingly. It reminds you of when you got sick and she took care of you. That’s right, she can be nice if she wants to… And she’s really good at it…

As you idly enjoy the headpats, Nurse Joy continues talking. “I’m sure you have an ambitious day ahead of you, don’t you? It probably involves challenging the Pewter City Gym Leader, and normally I don’t meddle in your plans, but… Would you like to spend some time here today? The Gym won’t even be open until this evening. It’s a quirk about this city’s Gym which I’ll leave for you to find out about yourself, but it means that you have the whole day to spend before going to the Gym, so… how about it? Care to join me?”
