Chapter 40 by Colleem Colleem

How will Dean and the World react to the of Thor?

Storychapter: 3 Weeks later the world Mourns

3 weeks have now passed and the world is still in shock. Everything seemed to be frozen. The heroes had long since returned and yet they were noticeably changed. The **** of Thor weighed heavily on the world. But above all, of course, on the Avengers.

Somehow it was hard for me today to remember what had happened the last 3 weeks. Everything... was just... strange.

I still remembered how the Avengers landed in New York the next day and slowly got off the jet. Of course, there were hundreds of reporters there and of course there were thousands of questions to be asked.

There they stood. The most powerful of the powerful.

Tony Stark, aka Iron Man in his almost completely destroyed armor and with as serious a face as has probably ever been seen from him.

Steve Rogers, aka Cpt America who just stood there and made a serious face.

T'Challa, the Black Panther and King of Wakanda. The Vibranium armor that was considered indestructible was torn in dozens of places and showed deep wounds on his skin.

Carol Denver's aka Cpt. Marvel. A heroine I admittedly knew very little about.

Reed Richards in his blue Fantastic Four uniform of as always holding a pad and just ignoring everyone else.

A man in a green cape with a green hood he wore over some sort of Iron Man suit stood a bit off to the side before activating the thrusters and flying away.

Behind him stood Was, Ant-Man and some people I hardly knew.

But no one, really no one, looked more impressive than Odin. He stood on the space ship and looked down at the crowd in front of him. In his right hand he held a kind of scepter that pulsated with energy and on his right shoulder sat 2 ravens and crowed loudly as one of the reporters ran forward. Before any of the Avengers could even utter a word, he held up a recording device and shouted.

"Tony! Tell us all about how Thor died! Our viewers want to know exactly how the mighty Thor died!"

For a second there was silence... No one said anything as Odin thrust his staff at the jet. The jet's landing gear could not withstand this ****, it seemed, and with a groaning crunch, the engines broke and the jet crashed to the ground. At the same time, the sky darkened while thousands of lightning bolts appeared out of nowhere over the black clouds.

All the cameras were focused on All father Odin, whose body was surrounded by a kind of aura that seemed extremely threatening. His healthy eye was directed at the reporter as he pointed his staff at the man who was now trembling with fear.

"Who dares mention the son of Odin so disrespectfully in my presence?" said Odin as the staff began to glow. "Away with you worm or the wrath of Odin will be upon you!"

Even on the screens, the power, wrath and fury of Odin could be clearly heard. The reporter backed away fearfully and then ran away. Shortly after, the Bifrost burned through the clouds and enveloped Odin. Within seconds, the Quinn jet had melted and Odin was gone.

"I know you have a lot of questions..." said Tony sternly. "But the first one of you idiots that gets out of line is going to have to deal with me!" he said sternly as Steve put a hand on his shoulder and stepped forward.

"We know you have many questions, of course, but we ask that you give us time. Earth may have lost one of its most powerful defenders, but we have a close friend to mourn! Thor died as he lived. He saved those he had sworn to protect. To him alone every inhabitant of this world owes that we were not all destroyed. To his sacrifice alone we owe it that we could defeat our enemy. The sacrifice of Thor caused Odin to intervene in the battle. Together we were able to ... win ... but that will have to be enough for today."

With these words, the heroes left the area and the coverage of the next few days always followed the same pattern. More and more pictures and recordings were published that showed this fight. Galactus had been a threat that even the gods could not face. Finally, Galactus was not defeated, but only banished to another galaxy, millions of light years away from ours. But the most amazing thing was that the Avengers were given time to mourn. In the middle of New York, a huge statue was constructed that showed Thor in all his glory, as he would live forever in our hearts. Here at the school, the teachers were incredibly busy during this time. The X-Men had decided to buy time for the Avengers. Unfortunately, the criminals of Earth had decided to take advantage of this shock period and groups like Hydra, AIM, or any other crazies started causing trouble all over the world. So, Scott and the others were on the road almost nonstop, fighting on dozens of battlefields.

While his students fought for good all over the world, Professor X tried to distract us ordinary students as best he could. There were more lessons, exams or excursions. All in all, the days passed for me as if in a frenzy. Waking up, eating, classes, studying, and in the evening, at the most, talking with the other students. But even here with us, there was only one topic.

During that time, during those three weeks, there was no sex or power or anything else for me. I led an almost normal life. But ... everything changes ...

I heard that the next mission of the X-Men was against my father.

Nightmares haunted me. Knowing what he was capable of and knowing that he would take everything from me. He was a monster. A monster who had to be stopped.

enough of Story and Worldbilding :) Time to have Fun
