*"Is that what you want?"*

Jen looked up from the book she was reading. She and Bruce had hidden again to stay there in the library after closing. Bruce's father was being... "hard" on Bruce so they sometimes hid here.

Bruce had finally fallen asleep as the storm raged outside and so Jen was reading this book. At first she'd just been curious... but it had really drawn her into the story... so much so she hadn't realized they weren't alone.

"I'm s-sorry," she said to the beautiful redheaded lady. "I know the library is c-closed and we shouldn't be in here... please d-don't be mad?"

The pretty redhead smiled. "It's fine. I'm sorry I disturbed you." She held up her finger to her lips and winked. "I won't tell anyone. I shouldn't really be here either so it can be our secret! My names Jean."

Jen laughed relieved they weren't in trouble again. "Hi Jean. I'm Jen and that's my cousin Bruce..." she licked her lips nervously. "W-we're hiding from his dad... are you hiding too?" The mousy looking young woman asked as the storm outside raged, thunder booming and lighting flashing.

Jean shook her head smiling softly. "Not anymore... but I used too. A lot. What are you reading?" Jean pulled out a chair at the little table across from Jen and sat down.

Jen shrugged and smiled shyly. "Just this b-book I found. It's about this lady who becomes an incredibly strong person and helps people in need on her adventures!" She blushes. "I-I like that sort of thing s-sometimes... fantasy stuff. I wish I could be that strong..." she looks at her cousin. "To protect and help people... and be more c-confident..."

Jean smiles and tenderly touches her hand. "That sounds like an interesting book! Can you tell me more about it? What adventure is she on now?"

Jen's eyes lit up excitedly and she started gushing about the book! "She was put under this dark enchantment! She was doing bad stuff but trying to break free. Then this handsome warrior prince found her and was trying to help her. But it took a weird turn..." Jen blinked. "See the curse was from his enemies and was compelling her to attack him when he figured it out. It was different but it got really exciting and t-then..." she blushed and felt hot. "It uhh... it started to g-get..."

Jean smiled. "Exciting differently? I like those kind of stories too!"

Jen nodded smiling. "Yeah... I-I like them too! That's not.. weird?"

Jean shook her head. "Not at all! That's perfectly natural for everyone, Jen."

The storm battered the old library but it couldn't reach them here. Here was safe. Safe with her cousin and Jean. She was nice... she even liked her book... and... talked to her about...

"Sometimes..." Jen said softly looking at the book. "Sometimes I want to be like that... strong and confident and beautiful a-and... s-sexy..." she swallowed. "Sometimes I... imagine that... how that'd be. How it'd feel... to be like that... and loved..." she swallowed. "I get... excited... and t-touch myself..."

Jean smiled and stroked her hand. "I don't think there's anything wrong with that, Jen."

Jen sighed relaxing more. "My father... he gets m-mad... he doesn't approve of my wanting to dance or when I... touch myself... and the boys at school are sometimes m-mean... Some of the girls too. I feel like a freak." Jen sighed but looked at the book. "But then I find these stories... about a life I wish I had! And I just want..."

"What do you want, Jen?" Jean asked gently.

"I want that!" Jen looks down at her now green hand. "I want to be free! Break free from my own curse!" She looked down at Bruce who seemed so much smaller. "I want to be strong enough to protect others and myself." She clenched her green fist watching her arm muscles bunch. "I want to be the hero of my own story! Have adventures and even-"

"Fall in love?" Jean asked smiling knowingly looking up at her with a wink.

Jen looked down at Jean and laughed. "I do! Even better if it's a romantic and passionate love, you know?"

Jean laughed and nodded. "Oh yes! I quite agree! You should definitely have that and more!" She reached out and tapped the book. "Like maybe the fellow in here you were telling me avout? Is he your type?"

Jen laughed loud enough to drive away the thunder outside. "Oh, heck yeah, Jean! Sexy, sweet princes who respect strong warrior babes? You know any of those?"

Jean winked. "I've met a few. They're out there. I think you should go grab one for yourself if that's what you want!"

Jen blushed but nodded. "Oh yeah! I like your thinking! But I also want someone who's strong enough to make me his too, if you know what I mean? I want him to want me... and then after I claim him... I want him to claim me! Wild passion that sets the world on fire... a love that-"

"Set's you free?" Jean asked knowing that's what she'd wanted in her youth.

"No," said Jen as the storm outside retreated as she stood shouting. "A love that binds and bonds! Like a chemical reaction! Like a forge making steel! Molten hot and then made stronger and harder until it's something special!"

Jean smiled at Jen and said, "That sounds perfect for you." She tapped the book with one hand with her other hand behind her back. "I think that's how the story should go, dont you?"

Jennifer "She-Hulk" Walters smiled and sat down opening the book and nodding. "I do, Jean." She put her glasses on happily and picking up a pen turned to the next blank page. "Thank you for your help with this. I appreciate it. The beautiful and strong warrior woman is going to break free of her curse. She and the Warrior Prince will have exciting adventures together... and a passionate love that grows and grows. An excitingly passionate and fierce love! He'll be the only man she surrenders too... because she wants too! And that's how she'll capture his heart! Think that sounds good?"

Jean grinned. "I think it sounds perfect except..."

Jen blinked looking up. "Except?"

Jean smiled. "I think she should have lots of friends too that love and support her!"

Jen grinned and nodded. "That's a great idea! Maybe even sexy friends! No maybe even more? A great big family! Hmmmm 10?... no 20?... better make it 40?... is 80 too much?"

Jean smiled and pushed back from the table. "I'll just leave you to it then... oh, do you mind if I take this book?" She brought her other hand out from behind her back and held up a similar looking book. "It doesn't really belong here."

Jen glanced up briefly. It looked like the same book... but it definitely wasn't. It didn't... "feel" right. She nodded and waved her hand. "Yes, please do! That definitely doesn't belong here... thanks for taking care of that for me, Jean! Should I show you out?"

Jean Grey waved as she disintegrated the false book. It was the source of Jen's problems and definitely didn't belong here in her mental sanctuary. "No, no... I can see myself out. You're in a grove! Keep writing, Jen!"

Jen gave her a thumbs up her pen scratching away. "Definitely needs some "spicy" scenes! Maybe... oh, naughty... I like that idea! Hee hee! This is gonna be good! As for the companions... let's see... hmmmm how about a magic user type? But lets make her spunky and fun with a penchant for explosions! Beautiful ones... and hmmmm a rogue type! But maybe something fun and different too... oh, maybe she should have powers! Spider powers! Wait... why are there so many girls? Eh, whatever. Oh they travel to a distant land at the invitation of the Princes lovers... wait a minute... is this a harem story and I'm NOT the lead? What the- oh, who are you?"

The author smiled at Jen. "Actually that's my book but I'm glad you're enjoying it, Jen. I like some of what you wrote though... especially the juicy bits! I might just use some of those for you. Time for you to wake up now that Jeannie is gone. You better skedaddle before the library opens up. Bye bye!" He waved.

She looked around. The library seemed totally different and so much... Bigger! Almost endless. She was in the- "Fan fiction section? "Characters For Sale"? What the he-"

The author watched her disappear back to where she needed to get to. He looked at Jen's notes though and nodded. "Definitely saving a few of these..." he sat down. "Just got to finish up this chapter, save and post it... then it's on to the next!"
