You chose your character class, a Hobo, which increases the fort's capacity to hold people, and gives you bonus scavenging skill and a Backpack as your starting equipment, (which ALSO provides a scavenging bonus,) then select your body type and outfit for which you pick a tall, slightly pudgy white guy with a full beard and long brown hair, and a set of army surplus camo fatigues, select Next you select Campaign mode, figuring you want to get into the meat of the game right away...

No sooner is all that done, than with a great roaring whoosh, you are sucked down into the screen!
