Chapter 9 by The-Drunken-Bandit The-Drunken-Bandit

Where do you start?

Storm Hawks

“Skimmers actually, their one of the only ways to travel in Atmos and my own personal favorite choice when it comes to getting around.” You tell Gaz with a smile as you begin to bring up even more images of this world dominated by aviation.

“Atmos? Is that what they call this place?” Gaz questions you as she stares at the many, many different kingdoms that exist within Atmos. At this question, you smile a little bit more as you begin to dive deeper into nostalgia and begin to pull up several more images of your adventures within this world.

“Yep, Atmos, the land of 1000 mountaintop kingdoms, each being protected by a Sky Knight to defend them from monsters, crooks, and the ever expansive Cyclonian empire.” You explain to Gaz to which she perks up at the litany of unfamiliar terms you just explain to her.

“Cyclonia? Sky Knights? Is this place trapped in the dark ages or something?” Gaz inquires with a raised brow, at which you elaborate further as you begin to pull up more images of this world, all the while keeping the nostalgia tone to your voice.

“I wouldn’t exactly say that there trapped in the dark ages Gaz, more along the lines that they can’t exactly go forward with the next stage of technology due to their overreliance on energy crystals.” At your explanation, Gaz can only raise even more questions as she puts her hand on her hips.

“Energy crystals? Are you absolutely sure this world isn’t trapped in the dark ages?” At Gaz’s confused question, you pull up several different images of the widely varying extremely powerful crystals that exist within this world.

“Eh, sort of? It’s hard to say, but I’m afraid this world falls into a weird category of advanced yet primitive. Though, that’s not to say that their completely defenseless as these crystals that they have a dependence on are extremely powerful. Some can create massive storms to destroy the entire mountains, some can bring a man back from the very brink of ****, and some are eating sentiment and alive to a degree.” You explain to Gaz as she shows a small degree of shock at the sight of some of the more dangerous, yet extremely powerful crystals. All of whom could easily fit inside the palm of her hand. However, the shock within Gaz only lasts for a second as she shakes her head and looks back at the screens and asks you an important question.

“Okay… So, who exactly would be our biggest roadblock in taking this world then?” Gaz questions to which you immediately pull up an image of a very familiar skyship, The condor, However, as you do so you pause at the sight of the current crew of the old vessel. At the sight of your sudden hesitation, Gaz looks at you confusedly as she arches one of her brows at your frozen form.

“What?” Gaz questions you with confusion as she begins to look and stare at the new crew of the condor. Itself consists of six different members, some of whom aren’t even human.

The first, and most likely the leader of the crew, is a tall (standing around the height of 6 ft 2) and an athletic looking boy who looked to be about 18-19 and had a mop of messy red hair and deep blue eyes. He wore a what looked like a raggedy and improvised set of blue and red leather armor that was stitched together with several plates of metal to provide a small layer of protection.

The second member of this crew was a skinny 18-year-old blonde with spiked up hair and deep blue eyes who looked to stand at the height of 5 ft 11 and looked too cocky for his own good. He too was also wearing an improvised set of leather armor like the boy from before, but instead of blue and red, his outfit was more of a blue and brown color. Also, unlike the boy from before, it appears that the blonde’s armor seemed to reflect a more ranged approach when it came to fighting.

The third member of the crew and the last human member was a thin athletic mocha skin colored girl with messy shoulder length deep blue hair that is being held up in a spiky yet wild hairdo with a yellow band. She also appears to be the same age as the two boys from before, being about 19 or 18 in age.

She is also dressed in a yellow and blue ragtag uniform, but unlike the two boys from before, she has no metal plating or leather in her outfit, an though while it still looks haphazardly stitched together, it retains a mixture of both a dress and a flight suit. However, thanks to this strange mixture of clothing, you can easily tell the sizes that this young woman has been blessed with.

From what you can tell, it appears that the mocha colored girl has Medium sized perky C cups and has a small set of hips, and an athletically medium-sized heart shaped rear.

However, what draws your eye the most of the three nonhuman members as you don’t quite recall there being any nonhumans being a part of the storm hawks when you last left.

The first of the nonhuman crew members was a tall (6 ft 5, however, was hunched over making him much shorter) and lanky looking chap that looked as if he hasn’t gotten enough sleep and had long black hair that reaches down to his shoulders.

It appears that this man is a Merb, A particular breed of human that has evolved to better suit the rather chaotic and disastrous environment of terra Merbia. Like the rest of the crew, he was also wearing an improvised leather flight suit, but lacked most of the metal plates that the rest of the team were wearing, outside of a small metal x shaped piece that was on the center of his chest.

The second nonhuman crew member stood out from the rest of the team for the sole fact that he wasn’t as skinny as them. Instead, this member was large with muscle and broad-shouldered with big hands and big feet and had a short cropped green hairstyle and pointed ears. This young man stood the tallest out of all the crew members, being about 6 ft 6, and appeared to be a Wallop.

Wallops are a particular brand of humanoid that appeared to be a cross between humans and rhinos and all originate from terra Wallop. Also, unlike the rest of the new crew, it appears that this large member of the team is far more armored up and instead of wearing a flight suit like the rest of the team, is instead wearing a green T-shirt, blue jeans, and thick leather combat boots that are metal plated.

Over his green T-shirt and blue jeans, it appears that he’s wearing an improvised set of armor the consists of the usual leather that the rest of the team is wearing and a great deal more of the metal plating of the rest of the team also wears.

The final nonhuman crew member of the new storm hawks is a small light blue lemur/rabbit hybrid. Strangely enough, this little hybrid is also wearing a blue makeshift flight suit, just like the rest of the crew.

However, as you analyze and look at each member this new crew storm hawks, a deep concern comes into your mind as you exclaim in shock at the sight of the new crew of the condor.

“The hell is this?!” You shout in alarm surprising Gaz just a little bit. However, before Gaz could say anything, you go on further as you immediately identify the redhead in this new storm hawks group. You easily Id him for the sole fact that you used to babysit him back when you stayed in this world!

“Aerrow?! What the hell?! Where the hell is his father, Blitz?!” You exclaim in shock as you point at the redheaded leader of the new storm hawks group.

“Wait, you know this guy?” Gaz questions with a raised brow as she looks at the redheaded leader. At this, you turn in your chair to look at her and proceed to take your helmet off so that you can see your disbelieving face.

“Know this guy? Gaz, I’m this boy’s godfather!” You tell your purple-haired henchgirl with wide eyes as you point at the red-headed boy on the screen. At your sudden proclamation, Gaz’s browse fly to her hairline in surprise.

“Wait. What?!” Gaz shouts in surprise as she looks at you with shock. Seeing this, you elaborate further by pulling up an image of a tall redheaded man that looks very similar to the boy in question.

“Let me explain, Gaz when I started traveling the multi-verse I came across this world during my travels. During this time, I met a young and hopeful Sky knight by the name of Blitz Krieg. Me and Blitz accidentally ran into each other when we both tried to stop a Cyclonian raiding party from attacking a small settlement. After this event, I sat down with Blitz, and he explained the entire situation of this world to me. He told me, about Cyclonia and its oppressive regime that was conquering other kingdoms and how the Cyclonian’s were essentially draining all the resources out of each conquered kingdom, usually with **** labor. Eventually, one thing led to another and me and Blitz teamed up to go out rally the other groups of sky knights together to finally put it an end to the Cyclonian’s aggressive expansion policy and to hopefully bring an end to their regime. This took several years of varying misadventures, during which, Blitz ended up falling in love and having a child. A child who Blitz trusted me to take care of if anything were to happen to him and his wife!” You explained as you began to bring up various images of your many different misadventures with the man who would eventually be called 'the lightning strike' by his people.

As Gaz looks at your many different adventures with the fabled hero of Atmos, her mind brings up an important fact.

“Wait, shouldn’t you know what happened to this Blitz guy? From the looks of it, you two were close, didn’t you try to keep in contact with him?” Gaz asks as she looked at you with a raised brow. To which you simply shake your head and explain even further as to why you didn’t keep contact with Blitz and more importantly why you left.

“I couldn’t. The crystals that give this world its power, also act as a form of jamming signal when it comes to interdimensional communication. However, more importantly, the reason I don’t know what happened to Blitz is the fact that before our final confrontation with the Cyclonian army, I was immediately dragged away to another dimension by some random asshole who needed my help! Worst of all, the method in which they used to drag me from this dimension to there’s completely sealed me off from ever returning to Atmos! Thankfully, the reset has fully removed the spell that locked me out in the first place. Though again, I’m wondering why Aerrow’s apparently leading a whole new team of sky knights without his father’s aid because last time I checked we were winning the war against Cyclonia?!” you explain to Gaz as you bring up the image of the new Storm Hawk team. As you do so, your mind immediately goes through the information you currently have and come up with only one course of action.

That course of action is that you need to investigate further before you do anything.

With that in mind, you ask yourself…

How do you go about this?
