Stop to get the transportation

Dave walks back to his house, wishing his mother to lend him her car and a little money for gas. When he enters his house his mother is waiting with a smile, her car keys, and a twenty dollar bill. She looks at Dave, “I would appreciate if you didn’t use the wishbone on me. Please? I know you got fired, and I would have given you some spending money and the use of the car if you had just asked.”

Dave cringes, “Right…umm, sorry. Something really important has come up, and I didn’t want to waste much time…”

His mother looks at him, “What’s come up?”

“Well, you know Maggie Simmons?”

“Oh, no, you didn’t use it on her did you?”

“Not like Jake! Never like Jake. It’s just, well, she’s eighteen now and I decided to well…”

“You changed her back?” His mother asks, tapping her foot.

“I just boosted her attraction to me, drank a glass of wine, and she read me a story. We talked. Now, granted if her mother hadn’t come home I’d probably still be there, I’ll admit that. Anyway, what came up though is the fact that she suspects her fall, remember that? She thinks it wasn’t an accident.”

His mother gasps at the thought, “Are you serious? Oh, wow, if…if it wasn’t she could have been…”

Dave nodded, refusing to think about that, “I know. Anyway, she thinks it was Pamela. In a fit of jealousy. So I got her address, and she is going to get it.”

“Well, umm, make sure you don’t do anything too harsh David. Okay? So…with anyone in the world, you decided to go to Maggie? Don’t you think she’s a bit young, what did her mother say?”

“Her husband is ten years older than her, and that Maggie can make her own decisions. Anyway, Maggie told me Pamela‘s address, and I’m going to confirm whether she had anything to do with the accident. And if she did, this girl at the office can help me with the payback. We were drunk once and she let slip that she likes to dominate women.”

Dave kisses his mother on the cheek, then runs out the door to the garage.
