Stick with Yu.

The second Yu suggests making a claim on herself, you realize you're in trouble. The idea of taking a part of your cute, smart, innocent friend and making it yours forever sings a siren song to your lizard brain.

"Are you sure you're okay with that?" you ask, wary. You were doing so well in not tempting yourself, it feels a risky to start down this path again.

But Yu gives you a blank look, unsure where the hesitance is coming from.

"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be? All we have to do is observe how I respond when you use whatever claim you make," she concludes. "If I can resist the dictates you make with the claim, then your claims are chain-of-custody, history based. If not, then we know your claims are intrinsic and definitional."

"Right..." you say.

Yutong smiles encouragingly. "I know, you're probably getting bored. We'll take a break after this and get back to the party."

The problem is the complete opposite. The party, your friends, graduation, everything's losing appeal. Experimenting more with your powers, with Yu, is about the only thing you want to keep doing. And unfortunately, you're too weak to turn Yu down now. The idea of claiming something else of hers looms large in your mind.

"Fine. But after this, we're going back outside to get some drinks," you warn.

You have to stick to the parameters of Yu's experiment. It's the only chance you have at slipping out of this without doing something you'll regret.

"Okay, sure," says Yu, taking a breath and preparing herself for what comes next. "Now, claim something I'm never planning on using, and haven't used in a long time. Like my ballet skills, or my appreciation for Star Trek, or something like that."

"You don't plan on going pro with your appreciation for Star Trek?" You gasp in disbelief. "Our whole friendship's been a scam!"

Yu giggles, embarrassed. "It was just an example."

"Right... give me a second to think," you say with a grin.

Now, Yu's an intelligent, shy, but driven girl, who aims for high achievement in all she does. And after college, she'll probably enter a demanding intellectual field, like engineering or psychology. So what's something she's never used, and would never use? Something you should be able to claim harmlessly enough, no strings attached?

A claim that, even if you were tempted to **** it a little, should be impossible to take too far. Y'know. Just to be safe.
