Outcome
Stealth Success | Perception Success
Keeping low to the ground, hidden by the shade cast by the surrounding hills and trees, Edmond followed the trail of goblin tracks, moving slow as to avoid accidentally making his presence known to any lookouts that might be around. He cast his gaze all around him, his eyes darting between likely hiding spots for any goblins that might be lying in wait.
Then he spotted one.
Laying at the precipice of a hill, hidden under the shade of a tree within the branches of a bush was a lone goblin. From this distance it was hard to make out many details, but their green skin failed to match up with the foliage around them, and the glint of metal - a weapon in all likelihood - just made it all the more obvious.
Edmond held his breath for a moment, waiting to see if the goblin had spotted him. After a few moments, he realized that they must not have. Now the question became what to do from here.
Edmond was well within range to shoot the goblin. If he was confident he could make the shot, he could try eliminating the lookout before they caused problems down the line. Alternatively, they could approach the lookout from hiding and come up on them from behind. What to do after that was another matter, but it would certainly open up some new possibilities. Finally, of course, he could just keep going, pass the lookout by rather than risk losing the element of surprise.
