"Neither of us is wearing a bikini now, so why should we bother just to start this conversation again?" Karen asked. "Unless you’d prefer to put your bikini back on?” she added, putting the decision back in Erica's hands.

“Erm... As you said, we’re not wearing them now... So why bother for this conversation?” Erica replied, without much conviction, realizing both of them had chosen to be naked.

Both ladies slightly relaxed their postures, without actual moving their hands from covering their naked bodies, trying to look like they were comfortable with being naked in front of each other, despite being strangers.

“OK, I’ll start again. Hi, I’m Karen,” she said, extending a hand to Erica, whilst trying to hide her nudity with the other.

Erica shook her hand, replying, “Hi Karen, I’m Erica. So... Do you come here often?” she asked, trying to sound confident.

“I’ve been here a few times. It’s nice and quiet so you can, erm, not worry about a bikini if you don’t want to,” Karen replied. “Although you already know that”

“Err... Yes,” Erica answered. “Actually, I’ve never been here before. And I’ve never been naked on a beach before. It was quiet when I arrived and I made a spontaneous decision to skinny dip.”

Both ladies had relaxed to the point of not worrying about trying to use their hands to cover their nakedness.

“Ah, that explains why I haven't seen you before,” Karen said. “And yes, I was like that the first time I came here. The peace and seclusion gave me the same idea of going naked here.”

Erica noticed that Karen had not shared how often she would come to the beach, or how often she was naked when she was there.

“Given we both had the same idea today,” Erica said, “Of being here and naked, I mean... Why don’t I move my stuff over and we can keep each other company... If you like.” Based on her response, Erica could find out if Karen, given she was naked, would prefer her own space on the beach or someone to talk to.
