Stay at the Academy

You've decided to stay at the academy over break to better prepare for the upcoming dueling season and mid term trials. Your friends are all gone and you find yourself as the only Cerberus left in the dorm. Perpetual winter storms prevent you from venturing outside and exploring the grounds. You mostly study in the library and practice spells in your dorm's common room. You're for the most part alone as the halls are empty and you only really see other students scattered about the dining hall during meals.

You're sitting alone at dinner, staring out the window at a typical heavy snowfall when something out of the ordinary caches your eye. Through the thick falling snow you see the unmistakable light of flames swirling about in the distance. You abandon your cold cereal to retrieve your coat and head outside. You trudge along as your legs get caught in the nearly knee high snow blanket. With some trouble you finally make it to the practice court where a beautiful figure dances around the court spitting fire with every movement. You recognize the figure from your first day of practice, she's Misaki the Phoenix senior. her raven colored hair is pulled into a bun and you admire her slender figure squeezed into a pair of leggings, she's dressed in a pair of fur lined boots and a small parka that left her naval area exposed. You let the snow collect on your shoulders as you watch her battle a stone golem. She's fast and acrobatic, dodging the golem's attacks and countering with impressive speed and precision. She's able to take its head off in five moves. The golem shatters to pieces and she quickly summons another one, this time taking it down in three moves. Misaki takes a moment to catch her breath and finally notices you standing on the sideline.

Misaki gives you a smile and introduces herself. She speaks broken English and you learn she is from Japan and chose to stay over break to hone her dueling skills for her upcoming senior season. She wants to duel professionally when she returns to Japan hence why she is training in the middle of a blizzard. The two of you head back inside and she invites you to join her in the Phoenix dorm for tea after her shower. You agree but in the meantime you decide to browse through the archaic magic library; the same library in which you had fooled around with Keira and acquired the love and sex charms book. You browse to see if there are any other books of use to you. Your browsing is interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their through. You turn and find Professor Dove peering over your shoulder.

" Looking for something?" She looks at you sternly. "A certain book seems to have gone missing from my archive ever since that day you and young miss Howl were assigned to organize this very collection." You apologize and promise to return the book immediately. " Oh just keep it." She lets out a long sigh. "I'm sure that book will do you a lot more good than just sitting around here gathering dust. Do be sure to return it before the end of next semester, please."

" Of course." You're shocked she would let you keep such a book.

" Now tell me, have you managed to charm any young ladies at this academy with the book's assistance?"

" Not successfully..." You admit. The sandman's tear seemed to have failed and you wonder whether you had made any error in crafting it.

"Well if you have any questions, I'm acting headmistress during the winter break. Come see me in my office anytime. " She takes a moment as she seems to be putting a lot of thought into her next words. " I'm also about to head to my home on the eastern side of the campus if you'd like to go over a few things now?"
