Stay and talk

As you chat with the friendly dog walker, you give him a closer examination. He looks about 50, but a young 50, meaning his face wasn’t showing too many signs of wear. You guessed at maybe 5’10 and although he looked like he was carrying a little more weight around his waist than would be ideal, he still looked in reasonable shape. A full head of dark hair containing just flecks of grey topped his head and gave him quite an attractive look for a guy his age.

Looking back to his face, his smile gave him a very welcoming look, and right now that smile was directed straight at you, almost suggesting he had caught you giving him the once over, and you battled hard to avoid a red blush spreading across your cheeks.

“So, where are you two lovely girls off too then?” he was asking when you rejoined the conversation.

“Oh, just looking for a fun night out” Lucy told him in her usual manner, a manner that she used whether discussing visiting her parents or how she was going to get so-and-so in her bed. It was a manner that made you sometimes want to kick her as she would do it at times to see how much see could embarrass you or anyone else.

“Well, there’s always lots of fun to have in quiet parks in the evening” the dog-walker quickly threw back at her in a manner with as much double meaning as Lucy had used.
