Stay Silent
I keep my breathing as silent as possible and make sure he can't see anything. He has to be bluffing. He never got the chance to see me and once he sees there's no answer he'll give up.
"Have it your way then" he says. I then hear a dagger whoosh past me then it turns in midair heading straight for me, stabbing my shoulder and pinning me to the ground. I grab the dagger and yank on it.
"Your not going to get it out that easy, my knives have a mind of there own and they answer only to me. Now that I know where you are I'm going to"
He pauses.
"A swift eh? Trying to act like an idiot to make me lower my guard? Well I'm too smart for that to fool me you hear? You better have a better plan then that for taking me down!" He says.
His sudden change of attitude towards me is not a surprise. Swifts are a very rare breed of mages and their existence is one of the things that's caused me to dream about winning this tournament.
Swifts are incredibly powerful and can do as they wish. One of them even destroyed the great city Olnmar of the Southern Continent instantly with the mere flick of the wrist. The whole city, off the map in a single second. Such is the power of Swifts.
But what's interesting about swifts is that their auras are just like regular humans. Normally you can sense the magic radiating from a being via the aura to measure up their strength before a fight for example. You don't even need to be a mage to do it.
So because swifts have the same auras as humans and you see a person with a weak aura what are you more inclined to thing: a suicidal human on a stupid quest in the most dangerous tournament of mages in history, or a Swift who seeks to gain even greater power by winning?
"Come on swift, you don't scare me. I will fill you fulla holes and then we'll see that your legends are just as false as the ones for this sad excuse for a mage lying beside me here!"
