You consider the options for a moment before smiling slightly.

“Let’s stay in.”

Jane immediately nods in agreement, curling her legs underneath herself on the couch.

“I’m kinda too tired to deal with a crowded theater tonight,” she admits. “Plus… I love our cozy movie nights.”

“I’ll order the pizza,” you say as you stand up. “You pick the movie.”

She grins and reaches for the remote.

“Deal. But only if you promise not to fall asleep before the ending this time. Last night you were basically snoring halfway through.”

“I’ll try not to.”

“I know,” Jane says. “That’s exactly why I picked it. Besides, you owe me after making me sit through all those action movies.”

“Fine,” you laugh. “Fair enough.”

A few taps later, she rents the movie before looking back at you again.

“Hurry up and go get the pizza before it gets cold.”

You grab your keys off the counter.

“Anything else you want me to pick up? I can stop by the store and grab drinks or something.”

Jane thinks for a second.

“Hmm… wine sounds nice,” she says finally. “But not anything super expensive. Surprise me?”

“Yes ma’am,” you reply with a grin. “I’ll get something good.”

You pause near the door before adding casually:

“I think we’re out of condoms too.”

She rolls her eyes playfully, laughing under her breath as she waves you toward the door.

“Then grab those too,” Jane says. “But seriously, hurry back before I start the movie without you.”

You shake your head with a smile before heading out into the cool evening air, already picturing her curled up under a blanket waiting for you when you get back.
