Starting the day

The next morning, I bump into a blonde on my way to the shower. After she lets out an awkward stammer, we go our separate ways. Tom makes an appearance about halfway through breakfast and we chat for a few minutes before I head to work.

Out the back of Love+, I see my manager Charlie 'the Chimney', showing off his namesake with his first of many cigarettes of the day. With his black dress slacks and purple dress shirt, the scrawny fifty-something is the right mix of British quirky and dapper.

"Hey Roxy." He says, a hint of his British accent that's been lingering since the 80's.

I give him a nod. "Charlie."

"How's it going?"

"Good. New roommate just moved in last night."

"Oh. Very good. What's he like?"

"He's cute. Long blonde hair to pull on too."

"Don't threaten me with a good time, my dear."

"Well, I'm pretty sure he's a girls only kinda guy. Already had one blonde over."

"Ohh... jealous are we?"

"Not after last night." A smile lights up my face.

"Hmmm, well we better save the gossip for later before we get too distracted. Let's open up."

I conceded his point with a shrug. "You're the boss."

As we get Love+ ready for another day of business, I can't help but think of Xavier. Did he really mean that he'd come here when he said 'Not yet', or was he just teasing me? Dammit, I've only been with him once, but I already can't get him out of my head.
