Start the Hike
You let out a low chuckle, effortlessly sliding the first-aid kit into the side pocket of the pack before turning to face Elena fully. You don’t let your gaze waver from her steady, piercing eyes.
“We always tell our guests that the night sky out here is unforgettable,” you say smoothly, a playful but unbothered smirk on your lips. “The ridge definitely has a lot of natural energy after dark. I’m just glad you got a chance to experience the best of what our wilderness has to offer.”
Elena arches a perfectly sculpted eyebrow, her dark eyes flashing with quiet amusement at your smooth deflection. She lets out a soft, hummed laugh, acknowledging the hit without pressing further. “Oh, I certainly did. It set a high bar for the rest of the trip.”
Before the silence can stretch into something heavier, Lauren and Chloe step into the lodge from the patio. Chloe is now sporting a pair of Lauren’s lightweight, mid-thigh athletic shorts, which sit snugly on her petite, curvy hips. Above the waistband, she remains completely bare, her busty frame catching the light of the main cabin. She tosses a similar pair toward Elena.
“Alright, guide, I’m officially brush-proofed from the waist down,” Chloe announces with a bright grin, adjusting the drawstring.
Lauren walks over to you, her bare skin warm as she brushes against your arm. She gives you a soft, knowing look, her blue eyes reflecting a deep warmth before she addresses the group. “So, I actually need to stay behind at the lodge this morning and I to take care of some inventory and resort logistics. But Mark is going to take excellent care of you on the trail.”
Elena steps back out onto the sun-drenched deck, her long, flawlessly tanned, bare legs shifting as she turns to look at you. “Don’t worry, Lauren. We’ll make sure your husband doesn’t get lost in his own woods.”
After checking the straps on the daypacks and ensuring everyone has sturdy footwear, the three of you head out from the main lodge. The sun is climbing higher, baking the pine needles underfoot and filling the mountain air with a thick, sweet aroma.
As you lead the way onto the lower trail, the thick mountain brush immediately closes in around you. True to your warning, the leafy brambles and low-hanging branches scratch lightly against your pants and the women’s borrowed shorts. Elena hikes directly behind you, her athletic, exceptionally toned physique moving with an unbothered, fluid grace as her long, protected legs step cleanly over fallen logs and navigate the narrow trail.
The physical proximity is striking, With every step, the contrast between your practical hiking attire and the women’s bare torsos keeps the atmosphere charged with a quiet, pulsing energy.
After about forty minutes of a steady, rhythmic climb, the thick undergrowth begins to thin. The dirt path gives way to smooth, sweeping slabs of grey granite. The heavy tree canopy opens up completely, exposing the trail to the brilliant, hot July sun as you officially clear the tree line. The vast, private expanse of the mountain ridge opens up below you, offering a breathtaking, isolated view.
You pause on a wide ledge of open rock, turning around to face the two women. The lower brush is completely behind you now; there is nothing ahead but sun, stone, and the steep climb to the peak.
Chloe catches her breath, her hands resting on her hips as she looks up at the bare granite peak ahead, then down at her shorts. “Well, guide... we made it past the brush. And I have to admit, it’s getting incredibly warm out here under the open sun.”
Elena stops beside her, entirely unbothered by the exertion, her golden skin glistening with a faint, attractive sheen of sweat under the midday light. She reaches down to the waistband of her shorts, fixing her intense gaze on you with a challenging, wicked little smile playing on her lips.
“The tree line is behind us, Mark,” Elena murmurs, her voice carrying smoothly over the open mountain breeze. “I believe you promised us that once we got up here, we could decide exactly what level of coverage we’re comfortable with.” She steps a fraction closer, her sharp eyes tracking your dressed frame. “The question is... what level are you comfortable with?”
