Start of Route 2

I head out the west exit of accumula town and end up on route 2 as I take my first step onto the route My Xtransceiver starts ringing, I look at my wrist -incoming call from Mom-

I connected to video call on the Xtransceiver. “Hey mom what’s up?” I ask

Mom “Hailey! How are you doing over there? Are you starting to realize how fun it is to get along with Pokémon yet?”

I smile glad my mom cared enough to check in on me “I’m doing good and yeah me and Otto are having a blast”

Mom giggles a little Otto such a cute nickname for him, anyway I just wanted to try out the Xtransceiver, but... you can turn it off now, okay?”

I smile a little “okay bye mom” I say softly as I hang up

I take a deep breath as I start to walk out on route two when someone grabs my hips from behind, I scream a little as I jump forward turning around and I see my Mom.

Mom laughs at my freak out “Hailey! I finally caught up... You're already this far, huh?”

I lean over hands on my knee as I catch my breath “not cool mom you scared me”

Mom laughs a little more “Professor Juniper told me you were probably heading for Striaton City around now, so.. Here's another present from mom! Hailey! Put these on!” She says as she hands me a pair of sneakers I grab the white sneakers “uhm thanks mom?”

She shakes her head a little “we’ll go on slip then on and hand me your boots, Wearing those Running Shoes, and you can get anywhere in a flash!”

I smile as I sit down on the ground I slip off my boots and slip on the sneakers “I was looking all over for these where’d you get them?”

Mom says “I found them, BOUGHT AND NEVER USED, while I was cleaning up your room. ...I think I should do that more often.”

I blush a little “I mean I used them once maybe” I mumble as I get up off the ground and quickly dust off my ass

“You know you're not alone, right, Hailey? You've always got friends in your Pokémon. And your mother's always, always thinking about you!”

I hug my mom tight “trust me mom I know”

She hugs me back for a minute before she lets go “I don’t want to keep you long you can actually make it to striaton city before night So enjoy the journey! That's what matters!, bye Hailey

“Bye mom” I shout out as she walk away
