Start at the Beginning Pt 15

"Whoa! Check out that one!"

"Unbelievable!"

Walt sighed as Gwen and Jubes checked out his phones pictures of the girls Friday was showing them for him. Meanwhile he worked the grill.

He picked up his beer and drank. It was hot... and not just the grill. The girls had on bikinis. String bikinis no less. Presumably from Jubilee's wardrobe. A yellow one for her and a pink one for Gwen. They both looked great which was no surprise... some Gwen Stacy's were models and both this Gwen and Jubilee were acrobatic and sporty.

And of course they'd set up camp right where he could see them best from the grill. He'd had a hardtime not staring and drooling as they put lotion on their skin. Very "Hard".

Walt shook his head and grabbed the tongs. "Pay attention. Don't want to grill the wrong meat now!" He muttered to himself before calling out. "Food'll be done in a little bit. If you ladies want to swim around before, better do it now!"

He thought they'd go for it but the look he got when they waved was "Don't bother trying to distract us". They were totally engrossed with his phone! "Well... I tried!"

"Geez!" Jubilee said. "Check out the the little cute ones! I thought they'd be safe but those are some weapons grade bodacious ta-tas!"

Gwen swallowed. "Holy Schnikes! Do you think they have back problems with them so big?"

Jubilee shook her head. "I dunno. Shoot and here's another one that's super fit! Sexy amazons! And another red head! Jean was just one time fling my butt!"

Gwen looked at Jubilee. "You think? I mean there's all kinds of girls here he's not sleeping with just... *gulp* you know..."

Jubilee sighed. "Yeah... just the ten really smoking or cute ones or alien other species... but that won't last. Look how this adorable one looks at him! God she's in full on housewife mode with that cute apron... and this little short ones practically got heart eyes... gah! It's not fair! Knowing Walt they're all super great too! A girl can't compete with this!"

"You think so too?" Gwen asked. "I was afraid of that. All these pictures they look so happy... with him... with each other. I wish I had that... I thought I did with... but it didn't work out for us..."

Jubilee looked at her and patted her hand. "Hero stuff?"

Gwen shook her head. "Partly and partly multiversal long distance stuff but mostly it just kinda... didn't work out." She shrugged. "It's cool and we're still friends. Nobodies fault but-"

Jubilee sighed. "But it sucks! I know. I been there! Meet nice guys, think they're into me and in the end they're either not or "not that way"... or worse they let the passion fizzle out! So frustrating!"

Gwen nodded. "And sometimes I get this weird feeling, you know... like there's a reason..."

Jubilee's eyes go wide. "Right? Like I had that feeling too! I used to have these weird nightmare dreams my whole life there was this entity or something that was trying to keep me a teenager for like 20 something years! But I finally became an adult and it was like "Whelp, not interested anymore!" So fricken' wierd!"

Gwen's eyes go wide. "You too! It's a weird feeling and it makes me feel funny... and I feel like in my case it's been like that for all kinds of the horrible things that happen to the Gwen Stacy's I've met! Like I want to tear down the walls until I find it and kick the crap out of it and-"

"Give it a real piece of my mind!" They both said together... then laugh.

"Is that normal you think?" Gwen asked.

Jubilee laughed and shrugged. "I guess it must be! Maybe it's common for young superhero ladies! Like some kinda syndrome for all the things in our lives or something."

Walt overheard the end part and thought about writers trying to keep their characters from changing and growing in comicbooks and other media. Most characters on Prime after a while started going through "phases", if their owners let them, once they're no longer stuck in "arrested development" and can make some choices and agency in their own lives. His ladies back home where growing and developing, learning and experiencing new things.

He thought about what he'd told Gwen earlier about being in a band. All true. Chuck's Daisy had gone through a "Metal" phase so they'd formed a band and embarrassed the hell out of her kids... but they'd rocked their hearts out til she got it out of her system and moved onto something else... surfing was it? Or was that one of the others? Didn't matter. It's part of what made Prime wild and fun in his opinion. Some characters never changed, either they didn't want to or weren't "allowed" to, and others were forcibly changed by their owners whims and desires to "customize"... and still others changed for themselves.

He'd seen goth Princess Peach, Emo Link, Gangsta Halo Spartans and some of his favorites Wonder Womans gone country. But whether a punk Honey-Lemon or hipster Batgirl all were fun to see one way or another.

Gwen sighed and Jubilee looked at her. "What?"

She shook her head and fingered her collar. Nobody had remarked on it so there had to be something about it. Walt had told her he'd tell her more if she wanted to come with him... she couldn't though... right? Even if she wanted to... he had a home with so many others... "I was just thinking I kinda wish we could talk to them somehow-"

Friday heard, and though they weren't authorized access she sent the request on to someone who was and receiving a positive confirmation opened communication with a text.

[Penny: Salutations!]

Gwen looked at Jubilee and Jubilee looked at Gwen. There was a quick struggle for the phone. Gwen snatched it though using the Symbiote as Walt distracted them. "Everything ok over there?"

They both smiled. "Everything's fine!"

Walt raised an eyebrow but went back to finishing up grilling.

[Walt: Hi! This is Gwen and Jubilee. We're with Walt and helping him out.]

[Penny: It is a pleasure to meet you, Gwen and Jubilee! I am Penny. Thank you both so much for helping Walter! <3]

Gwen and Jubilee nodded. This was the one marked as Penny! The cute redhead in the most pictures! They'd just watched her dancing the robot at some function with Walt and what appeared to be a bunch of robots! "What are you waiting for?" Jubilee asked.

Gwen licked her lips nervously. "I dunno! I've never sent text messages to another reality before!"

Jubilee shakes her head and snatches the phone away. "Forget about that! She's a girl just like us... probably!"

[Walt: Hiya Penny! It's Jubes! U r welcome! Walt's good. We're all good here! Hope u r 2! We're taking good care of him!"]

[Penny: Hi Jubes! That is wonderful to hear and makes me very happy! I am certain Walt is very appreciative of your support. I hope he takes good care of you two as well!]

"See?" Jubilee said. "She's sweet! A little stiff but sweet! What should we ask her first?" She asked Gwen while texting.

[Walt: Jubes here! Walt's the best! Can we ask u stuff?]

[Penny: Absolutely! I am ready for your questions!]

Gwen snatched the phone away from Jubilee. "Hey!" Jubilee said.

[Walt: Hi Penny, it's Gwen. Walt collared me and has been a good friend. He said I could come with if I decided I wanted to but I'm not sure I should. I'm nervous and stuff. He's been super great but how do I know? What's it like there? Are you all happy? Are you all... his?]

Jubilee blinked at the huge text. "Collar? Come with?" Her eyes got wide. "Oh holy smokes! Gwen are you-"

"I dunno!" Gwen said. "You saw the collars right? Mine too?"

Jubilee nodded and shrugged. "Fashion choice? I mean I different strokes for different folks. I like yellow and pink myself but it looks good on you. Nothing wrong with basic black. Do they come in pink? Because-"

"Not the point!" Gwen hissed. "They all "belong" to Walt is what that-"

Penny had already replied but it came as a video attachment.

[Penny waving to the camera: "Salutations ladies! I wish we could chat normally but Friday tells me that would be difficult with the time distortion. So I thought maybe this would be better!" She smiles happily and turns taking cookies out of the oven.

She turns back. "Those are good questions but first let me congratulate you Gwen! That makes you a part of our family now! I know it might be a scary idea but I can assure you it is not scary at all in actuality. It is warm and full of love! Like a hug! That makes us sisters or at least friends! Walter is wonderful that way and it means you are very special and he loves you! And I love you too!"

She looks up and tilts her head before looking back at the camera. "Neo said I should be quick and concise so I will try. Yes. We are all Walt's. It is not scary at all here! With the exception of Mystique we all like it here and even she is getting better slowly I think. We had a lovely dance together! Now your other question. How do you know if you want to come here? If Walt has collared you, knowing him he wants what is best for you and if he has given you the choice then my advice is to think about that and make the choice you feel is best for yourself! Knowing Walt that is what he wants for you too! He likes making people happy and feel good and loved. I'm sure he is always thinking of ways to help you and everyone else. It is why so many choose to love him. Because he is always thinking about them and deeply cares for them. At home, at work, on adventures... Walt touches peoples hearts. It is his greatest strength."

Bunches of people crowd around Penny and start waving to the camera. "We hope this answers your questions and we want you to know we appreciate you both and love you even if we never meet! We are thinking of you and wishing you the best! Hope to hear from or see you soon!" The camera turns around to show Neo's and Manami's faces waving and smiling and then stops.]

Gwen looks at Jubilee. "Are you crying?"

"Shut up," Jubilee said wiping at her eyes. "Like the X-Men meets the Brady Bunch over there... sweet enough to give ya the diabetes! Besides you're crying too dummy!"

Gwen wiped her eyes. "It's... dusty out here. I think I'm allergic to Krakoa plants!"

"Yeah," Jubilee laughed. "That's it. Me too! Oh, shoot here comes Walt. Be cool Spider-crybaby."

"Oh, shut it premature detonator!" Gwen retorts.

Walt came over and placed a platter on the nearby table. "Ok. I got hotdogs because they're Gwen's favorites and Hamburgers because Jubes likes them and doesn't do dairy. Some are extra rare for the Symbiote. There's also chicken skewers with fresh veggies thanks to Krakoa and potatoes and a bit if salad and I'll go grab the cheese for those of us who do want and buns, condiments and other... stuff... you ladies okay?"

They're both crying even more as Penny was right. He's always thinking about others... about them. "We... *sniff* we've got allergies!" Gwen said covering her eyes with her arm.

"Yeah, dude," Jubilee said hiding her eyes with her singlasses. "Pollen and stuff!*sniff*"

Walt nodded. "Oh... ok. I'll go find some antihistamines and tissues while I'm inside! I think I might have some in the emergency kit. I'll be right back!" He ran for the mansion.

"Stupid," Gwen said. "Stupid, sweet dummy!" (*HaPpY*)

Jubilee nodded. "He's one of the best, the caring jerk! The food looks *sob* super great!"

"I know!" Gwen sobbed. "It's so not fair!"
