Chapter 8 by D!$N3Y D!$N3Y

Meanwhile?

Starfire is coming around. But in how many ways...?

Meanwhile, in the Amazon Jungle, Jeremy had Starfire ensnared in an bubble (the same one the Brain trapped Elasti-Girl of the Doom Patrol in). He watched her limp body lying there, thinking of what to do next. He could just use his new abilities to take her as his own, but... "That would be too easy," he told himself softly. Besides, he would have a backup plan, just in case. Shortly, she began to regain consciousness to see that she was trapped, and she could see by whom. She was still naïve, though, not putting it together yet.

"Jeremy," she smiled. "How happy I am to see you." She had placed her hands on the interior, and her smiled disappeared. "You must find a way to free me." That was when Jeremy's eyes glowed red and he started talking like the Brain.

"Quite the contrary, Starfire. You are merely a small piece in my clockwork ploy. Once the Teen Titans find you, I will have the pleasure of ending them myself." Then the glow in his eyes faded as he changed voices to sound like Madame Rouge. "And your teammates vill have much difficulty in locating you... I vould not get my hopes up if I vere you..." He actually winked at her and as he walked away, Starfire was defiant.

"My friends will find me!" she yelled, banging on the bubble. "And then it shall be you that will be ended!" Inside, Jeremy didn't actually mean that he was going to kill her friends. And a part of him was considering to stop before things went too far. But he swallowed those insecure thoughts and talked to no one in particular in Brother Blood's voice. "I'm afraid not, my dear..."

The rest of the Titans were sitting in their living room, trying to figure how to find Starfire. Raven appeared to be meditating while the others sat next to her. "Any luck, Raven?" Robin asked. Raven came back to her own body from astral projecting herself.

"Sorry, Robin. I can't hear her thoughts. Wherever she is, someone's blocking my telepathic powers." Cyborg tried using the mini-computer in his arm to do some searching.

"Robin, I think we have a problem. I did a double-check of the entire Tower, and the T-ship's missing."

"So, Star must've taken the ship," Robin's supposed. However, Beast Boy argued.

"But... If she took the ship, why leave her communicator behind?" Cy stood up and went to their main computer. "Watcha doing?"

"If Starfire had gone anywhere, we should be able to find out where by checking energy outputs." So, he checked with any surges between 30-60 minutes. ... And a few came up. Robin noticed something.

"Look, one of them's in the Amazon Rainforest," he pointed. Beast Boy figured,

"Like where we first fought the Brotherhood of Evil..." The team finally piece together that Star was somewhere in S. American jungle. They started to gear up, except for Beast Boy who stopped them with a question.

"Uh, guys? How are we gonna get to the jungle without our ship?" That was a good point, so they began to ponder. Robin had an inkling, explaining that they can use one of Raven's spells, just like when she locked onto Cyborg's sonic frequency from 5000 years in the past.

"Only it'll be simpler, once you hone in on her starbolt energy. What do you think, Raven?"

"I'll work on it," she agreed, floating towards her spell books in her room.

"I just hope we're not too late..." Robin growled to no one.
