Chapter 7 by The-Drunken-Bandit The-Drunken-Bandit

Where do you look?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The Star Wars universe is complicated, but it is perhaps one of the best places to start looking for a suitable commander for your forces.

With that in mind, you immediately begin to look throughout the world and come up with three possible candidates that have had experience of leading people or have had combat experience.

1. Asajj Ventress: the story of Ventress is a sad tale. It all begins back on dathomir where a baby Ventress is forcefully handed over to a crime boss to ensure the safety of her family’s coven. As time goes by Ventress grows up spending her entire childhood as a ****, but then one day she has saved by a kind of Jedi master who was unfortunately abandoned upon the planet on which the crime boss lived on.

From here the young Ventress is taken in by this Jedi master and trained in the ways of the **** and the ways of the Jedi. However, this is a sad tale and unfortunately one day during a pirate raid her master is killed by one of the raiders. Overcome with grief and anger Ventress gives in to the darkness with in her and goes on a rampage and begin slaughtering all the pirates on the planet.

The years that follow had Ventress become the leader of the world that she and her master defended as its dictator and tyrant. Then one day after this, Ventress is approached by none other than the great count Dooku with an offer of becoming his apprentice, Ventress accepted this offer gladly and became the count's assassin and apprentice. Though this is all for not as the ways of the Sith dictate that only the strongest survive and predictably Dooku betrays Ventress and has left her for dead.

Recruiting Ventress comes with **** concerns, as the dark Jedi assassin comes with a litany of trust issues and emotional baggage that you’re going to have to work through. Even then that’s not counting the fact that Vexus may betray you at the drop of a hat if it means she’ll get **** on Dooku and everyone that she’s believed wrong her.

Then again there are some significant bonuses for recruiting Ventress as your commander as Ventress has had experience leading soldiers out into the field and has been in many conflicts with many great and skilled warriors. She would make an excellent combat teacher for you and a superior general for your forces.

2. Aurra Sing: Aurra Sing, you didn’t know much about this infamous bounty hunter that exists in the Star Wars universe, but as you begin to research deeper into her past. You find yourself wanting not to know anymore as the Bounty Hunter has one hell of a checkered past.

Originally Aurra was born to a spice addict on Nar Shadda, a rather infamous moon in the Star Wars galaxy that is well known for its shady background dealings and its overwhelming abundance of crime. Luckily for the young Aurra, she was picked up by the Jedi for having **** sensitivity and was taken to the Jedi Temple to be trained in the ways of the Jedi. Problem is Aurra was kind of a troublemaker from the get-go and often had issues with the many Jedi masters and fellow Jedi padawans.

Ultimately due to her troublemaking ways, Aurra was taken to be trained by the dark woman on the orders of the Jedi Council. The dark woman is an especially infamous Jedi master who had a history of dealing with 'troublesome' students. The Council had hoped that by assigning the dark woman as Aurra’s teacher that eventually Aurora would fall in line, unfortunately, the exact opposite happened and Aurra and the dark woman clashed heads regularly.

Which only ended up sowing an even deeper rift in between Aurra and the Jedi which was eventually taken advantage of by several pirates who kidnapped her one day from the Jedi Temple. They played on her insecurities and her feelings of abandonment and turned her and raised her as a pirate. From this point it was just a simple slow decline for Aurora as she slowly became even more depraved as time went on as she switched from gang to gang and eventually became an infamous Jedi Bounty Hunter.

Now the current Aurra is a far cry from the innocent troublemaker that came from the Jedi Temple, as she is ruthless, greedy, and has a mercenary heart at her core.

Recruiting Aurora comes at **** risk of betrayal, as while Aurra may have an extensive history in combat and leading others out in the field. She is still a cold-hearted mercenary that will turn on you at the drop of a hat if somebody else pays her more.

That said you can’t ignore the pros of having Aurora on your side, as she is a skilled combatant and has history teaching others how to fight. Something beneficial for you as you have minimal combat experience outside of the small target practice you’ve had here on the ship. There’s also the fact Aurra is also possibly able to use the **** and as a result, doubles her worth as a second in command.

3. Barriss Offee: the final choice out of your selected three is Barriss Offee, a currently disgraced Jedi who resides presently in coruscant’s maximum-security prison.

Barriss originally was a Jedi padawan to a member of the Jedi council, a Master Luminara Unduli if you remember correctly. Anyway, Barriss became disgraced after she performed a horrible act in which she bombed the Jedi Temple in the twisted belief that the Jedi were responsible for the creation of the clone wars. When Barriss attacked the Jedi Temple, she made it appear to everyone that her close friend Asoka was responsible for this horrible act, when in reality it was Barriss who was truly responsible. Eventually, over time Barriss was found out and exposed as the real culprit of the bombings and publicly confessed to the crimes. Which leads us to where she is now as you spot her sitting in her cell meditating.

Recruiting Barriss maybe perhaps the safest option out of the three, although it comes with its share of problems for the simple fact that Barriss was willing to bomb her own home to prove her beliefs, something like that just doesn’t go away. For the sole reality, that it raises the question of whether or not Barriss could ever be truly trusted.

Then again you have to consider the positives of recruiting Barriss to your cause, mainly for the fact that unlike the other two she won’t merely betray you on a whim. There’s also the fact that Barriss is far more levelheaded than the other two combined and would be an excellent commander as a result.
