Star Trek??

“Star Trek?” Hana groans. “Oh, god. Now we all thirst for Chris Pine.”

“I thirst for Karl Urban,” Grace says.

You raise your hand in silent agreement, but everyone is talking at once and not paying attention to you.

“That game from way back,” Cheryl is saying. “The Voyager FPS? That was so kick-ass. I played the campaign and matches with bots. It was so fucking good. Oh my god. Orgasmic.” She waves a hand. “So good. Let’s play that.”

“That won’t run on modern hardware,” Hana scolds her. “Get real.”

“The even-numbered movies are the good ones,” Max says warmly. “Especially two and six. And eight. And maybe ten because of young Tom Hardy,” she says wistfully.

“You just named them all,” Grace tells her. “All the even ones.”

“Except four. But wait, four is actually the best,” Max says, looking thoughtful. “Now that I think about it.”

“OK, now that’s all of them!” Grace snaps.

“That’s what I said, isn’t it?”

“Nerd stuff,” Hana says irritably. “You think I don’t know about this shit?” She pulls a pistol from under the table. “I will shoot the first person that starts a Babylon Five versus Deep Space Nine debate. Swear to god.”

“Do we need guns?” you ask worriedly.

“No. Put that down,” Sakura says, snatching the pistol from Hana. “I have not seen this.”

“You haven’t seen any?” Grace asks, eyes wide.

“I am from Japan,” Sakura says.

“I’m from Korea! Even I know Star Trek. Damn,” Grace says. “OK, just skip the old stuff. Go straight to TNG.”

“And skip the first season of that,” Max says. “Just skip right past it. But then you’re golden,” she says, giving Sakura a thumbs up.

“Yeah, TNG and DS9 are all you need,” Grace says, nodding sagely.

“And the even-numbered movies,” Max reminds her.

“Sure,” Grace says.

“OK,” Sakura says, making a note on her phone.

“Guys, we can’t do a whole seventy-year-old franchise in a week,” Hana snarls. “Narrow it down, Grace.”

“Let’s do the game. Bridge Crew. You like VR, right?” Grace asks her.

“I do like VR,” Hana admits, scowling. “OK. It’s decided. And don’t forget to get the horny version this time, people,” she says, giving you a look.
