He pulled a jewel case from the cabinet under the TV. He removed the disc, inspecting the black, reflective side. The side was littered with scratches, but no new scratches that would hamper the game's functions.

While the game was made for the Sony Playstation, his family had a Playstation 3 that had just been dusted.

Jim decided to sit on the carpeted floor in front of the television because the controller needed to charge, taking a few mouthfuls of formula as the Sony logo loaded.

This was one of his dad's favorite games, or at least one of his favorite classics. When Jim was an actual toddler, he and his dad would play it for hours.

He loaded an old save, set in the second homeworld of the game Peacekeepers. When he played this game with his dad when he was younger, he always found the music intimidating and his dad would play this part, but having played the game so many times he could beat it in his sleep.
