Chapter 53 by Ajaxiss Ajaxiss

How do you make your move?

Spring the trap!

Aware that the heroes would soon leave your hard planned ambush, you know you must act now or risk losing any potential gains they offer. Levels... women... No! You are definitely ambushing them.

They are at the mid distance of your buried roots, maybe, ah! Theres an idea!

You begin slowing uprooting many of your roots behind the party as silently as possible and you have them ready for your strike. You know the spiders are just waiting for your signal so you give it to them!

A quick absorb of Miera gives you all the mana you will need for this next part, and your poised roots simultaneously fire 12 seedlings throughout where the party is standing and at your ability trigger the spiders fall upon the party.

You see that the spiders have evenly split themselves among the heroes. Cringing from their tactics, you feel a general sense of annoyance towards your underlings, couldn't they just focus one or two of them?

As your seedlings sprout up from the ground they rise firing tiny darts at each hero distracting them and hitting them from multiple directions.

Your vines dive in for the strongest targets, the fighters. You bind and trip them keeping them from aiding their more ranged party members.

The heroes, taken completely by surprise have been caught flatfooted, with the exception of the tailed one who again seems extraordinarily blessed. You silently raise a branch to sarcastically thank the developers for the wonderful addition of whatever-the-hell she is.

Turning your full attention to the primary targets you notice that the alchemist sports a huge poison resistance which is nullifying almost all the damage from the spider attacks. The knights are not so lucky as their mid-level armour has spaced joints and your seedlings darts and underlings fangs find quick purchase in the soft fleshy areas on their bodies. The knights explode in XP clouds and you celebrate by draining Meira again, although she was just drained Meira's mana pool still tops yours up.

The alchemist started grabbing bottles... you dont think its likely a good sign and he winds up to throw them at your seedlings.

*smash smash*

The bottles break and several seedlings go down, but it not worrying for you as they were just about to shrivel anyways and round two was almost ready.

Ava the blur or an animal girl makes the same mistake and flashes between the seedlings destroying them with quick precision. The robed high elf threw back her hood and cloak and started chanting, and while that was truly worrying the barbarian was having the most success destroying spiders left, right, and centre, but hey what are minions for right?

The vines freed from binding the two dead fighters fire another volley of seedlings but this time you send them straight at the alchemist seeking to knock his cannistered **** out quickly, plus you didn't want to capture some old male bag of bones, your eyes were on the high elf spellcaster and the multi-tailed speed freak and how much fun they could be.

The combined weight of your seedlings smash into the alchemist at full **** and knock him the roots that still had him bound. As the seedlings hit the dirt around his prone form they sprout up and look down at him together.

"Oh, Imp Dung..."

Your seedlings fire down at him simultaneously, their projectiles finding easy purchase on him through his soft leather robe. As he explodes into XP, disappearing into oblivion and back to town, this development is terrible for your newest seedlings. They don't even have time to turn about before the She-Barian is hacking through the group of them in wide swath cutting swings, with each pass of her axe taking out multiple seedlings.

I notice that I have a level to spend but I don't have the time to level up - forcing the vines back into the fray. Just then the Mage ceased chanting. The spiders chitter's and heroes battle cries were silenced, overwhelmed by the calamitous *BANG* that echoed down the tunnel leaving the spiders, vines and remaining seedlings decimated.

The destruction raged inside the tunnel, and through my root web underneath the ground, I could feel the tremors from the tunnel as it collapsed due to the **** meted out by the beautiful mage.

Now, they had no alternative... they had to come to you.

What now?
