"Diane, how about I wait out here and you check inside?" Josh suggested.

She gave him a dirty look before remembering what he had told her about Melanie's aunt. "Okay, I can do that." She then mouthed "you owe me."

"Do you want me to show you around?" Melanie asked.

"Nah, I like a little spontaneity," Diane assured her before giving a little salute-wave as she headed to the house.

"The first few hot dogs are done if you want some, Josh," Mr. Stevens offered.

"Sure, thanks Sir." Josh said politely.

"Hey not of that "sir" stuff. Makes me feel old. Call me Luke," he insisted with a charming smile.

"Okay, Luke," Josh said, returning the smile.

"Hey Mel, I've got some more meat in the cooler in the back garage. Could you help me with it?" Luke asked the young girl.

"Sure! Be right back, Josh!" She gave him a wink, the unspoken reason for him staying outside obvious to her as she followed after Luke.

Josh had been about to bite into his hotdog when he did a sudden second take. Had he seen that right? He could have sworn he saw Luke reach down and pinch Melanie's butt. Was the guy some kind of creeper? Or was-. That line of thinking immediately had Josh's problem of a hard-on coming back. He should probably make sure Melanie was okay..but he didn't want to miss it if Elena showed up.
