Split and go down

“Lets split up. If either of us find them backtrack and get the other. Agreed?” I say and he nods in agreement.

“I’ll take the lower tunnel. You go up.”

“Right. See you in a bit.”

I start down the lower tunnel to find it’s pretty dimly lit, but I see some light flickering from the torches up ahead. My heart races as I get closer ready to spot the goblins as I round the corner though I see Troggs.

Before I can react a couple sniff the air and quickly turn towards me and cry out.

“Shit.” I mutter as a group of 6 or 7 grab some clubs and start to charge me.

I block and beat back the first couple that reach me. Their skin is tough and despite my powerful swings, they push back up to their feet and resume their attack on me. I spot a caster in the back tipping the odds ever more in their favor. Even if I were to try and run they’d chase me all the way out and into the woods. I had to think about how to turn the tide of battle.
