Spencer continues her interview before deciding

"Forget I said that," Spencer said, "We'll deal with that choice after the interview is over."

"Forget what?" Nora asked puzzled, "What choice?"

"Exactly," Spencer exclaimed, pointing at Nora. She pulled back out her recorder and shoved it in Nora's face. "Now tell me, who is this journalist mother? What's her name?"

"Uh, I don't know if I should say that on record but she's," Nora looked around and lowered her voice before continuing, "Iris West." Spencer scrunched up her nose at that. Either she misunderstood or her app wasn't working well enough since Nora could still lie.

"Really? Dang, me and Iris are old co-workers! I blogged her wedding. How does that work though? She's definitely too young and never mentioned a kid."

"I think I've said too much already," Nora said as she tried to back away from the mic, still unable to move.

"Come on, it's not a real interview if you aren't honest. Now explain. How is Iris West your mother? You look like you could be older than her, even. Is it a sex thing?"

"Ew! No, no. Look, I'm actually from the future. I technically haven't been born yet."

"You lost me there," Spencer said as her face flattened.

"It's true! Speedsters have the ability to time travel. I'm actually from 2049."

"Really? Can the Flash time travel?" Spencer leaned in as she said that, her body draped over the table they were sitting at and the hand her recorder was in in XS' face.

"Uh, yeah. Sometimes we have to for missions. But he always tells me to avoid it for personal gain. It comes with massive consequences. He learned that the hard way."

"Really? Well if it's such a risk what brings you to the present?" Spencer sat up. "Don't tell me this is the best it gets."

"Heh, no. I came for personal reasons. To see my dad... and to save him."

"Ooo, someone's breaking Flash's golden rule. Tell me who this special father XS is risking the timeline for is."

"Barry Allen, he's a forensic scientist for the CCPD."

"Ah, Iris doesn't get remarried in the future. He owns S.T.A.R. Labs, right?"

"Yeah, he does."

"Pretty important person. Aren't you afraid that if you succeed your timeline will change?"

"Can we end this interview?"

"Not until you answer me."

"Well, kinda. But I'm working with someone to avoid that, and even if I fail at least I met my dad. Besides, if my dad survives the world will be better for it. I guarantee it."

"How can you be so sure? Is one forensic scientist so powerful? And S.T.A.R. has switched hands before. Didn't Barry disappear in that freak lightning storm a while back? I remember Iris covering that."

"My dad is more than just a cop. Trust me." This seemed to intrigue Spencer as her body language shifted.

"Ooo, tell me. What's so special about Mr. Allen?" Nora immediately stiffened.

"Uhhhh-" Nora's body became stiffer than steel.

"Tell me and the interview's over. You can go home and put some clothes on. After you give me your number, of course." Spencer knew she didn't need to sweeten the pot like that. XS would have to answer the question eventually, the hypnosis ensured that. Spencer wanted her to be a bit more comfortable though, the two would eventually be friends after all.

"Uhhh," Nora still stalled. Would she really give up her dad's secret identity for some clothes?

"I promise I won't report it; it's just between me and you, XS."

"My dad's the Flash," Nora spat out as fast as she could while still making sure Spencer could understand her. Before Spencer even heard her she disappeared in a flash of purple and golden lightning, sending litter flying in a tornado around their table. Spencer sat with a slack jaw for nearly half a minute after hearing the news, realizing how much sense it made. She snapped out of it when a receipt that was swept up in the mayhem floated into her vision. She noticed it had something on it and plucked it out of the air. It read:

My number is 555-724-1956. Please only call after hours. I can't deal with superhero press stuff at work or on patrol.

Spencer smiled. She knew she didn't need to listen to that. XS would do what she wanted when she wanted, and now so would The Flash if he wanted to keep his little family secret.
