Spencer asks Mary something

After breakfast, Emiko said her goodbyes and headed off. As she left the door, Mary asked "So, I guess you'll want to get going too?"

"Yeah, I probably should."

Mary nodded. "Well, it was good fun."

"Sure was. Say, I was thinking?"

"Yeah?"

"How would you feel about us taking things further?"

Mary raised an eyebrow "Further how?"

"Well, like boyfriend-girlfriend."

"Whoa, okay. Wasn't expecting that. I mean I'm flattered... truly, but..."

"You don't have to be exclusive to me."

"Well, yeah. It's just I haven't really been with anyone like that since I started swinging. Haven't really thought about."

"Living up the single life?"

Mary nodded with a smile. "Yep."

"Do you want to think about it?"

Mary paused for a second as she calculated things in her head. "Hmm, you know what? No. I think we should go for it."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. Shall we go out for dinner tonight?"

"Sounds good to me."

"See you then?"

"Sure."

The two exchange a kiss as Spencer then leaves. For a while he wore a smile on his face, until he wondered how Amy would react. As much as he liked Mary, he could also see how the flexibility of their 'relationship' could be advantageous. The smile returned when he thought how mad it'd make Cindy that he had ignored her for her boss.

Back home, he found Amy on the couch watching TV. "Have a good night Dad?"

"Uh, yeah. Actually, I have something to tell you?"

"Yeah?"

"Umm, I'm going on a date tonight."

"Oh. Okay."

"And it's with Principal Winters."

"Well, she's pretty chill."

"Glad to know she has your full approval."

Amy chuckled for a second, before saying "Well, hopefully it works out."

"Hopefully."
