Such as?
Spells
Spells. They can do almost anything the user can imagine. They're very flexible, but a spell user has two big downsides:
The first is that they're not automatic: The spell slinger needs to imagine the effect in detail as they go through practiced motions or words to produce the effects. If the spell caster's concentration is broken, they lose the spell. A 'standard' super powered individual on the other hand just uses the same effect over and over naturally: No particular concentration is needed for Dragonguy, who just blasts gouts of fire out of his mouth: His soul is used to moving in that highly specific way, and can basically always do so.
The second is power: A spell slinger works the soul's power in many different forms, which makes it difficult to master any one. A spell may cause a gout of fire to spring from the caster's mouth, but because that's basically all Dragonguy does, Dragonguy's fire breath will basically always be superior to any from a spell.
