You were a normal guy who idolized heroes, just like the average Joe would. You were just going about your day, walking to work like usual. Your day stopped being normal when you noticed flash of golden lightning in the sky. This was surprising and concerning to you because it was a sunny day. What happened next was quite literally shocking. The lightning struck you and sent you flying into a nearby science laboratory. The chemicals inside of the lab fell on your unconscious body.

A few months later, you woke up in a hospital bed, surrounded by friends and family who came to visit. Doctors and scientists alike were shocked by you waking up from your coma. They expected you to be in a permanent coma. Instead you made a full recovery. This warranted some unwanted attention from the media (more specifically, a reporter from Metropolis). After some time, you realized the lightning strike combined with the chemicals gave you powers. After some time, you managed to find The Flash and reveal that you had powers. He, of course, helped you learn how to use them properly. Now you don a suit and cowl and go by………Velocity.
