Space Travel

Space travel was first discovered by the people of Corr with simple rockets that traveled to nearby moons. This form of space travel would last for one hundred years until they created the first spaceship, the Mk. 1 Starseeker. This led them to discover Aurum planets and their vast resources.

Starseeker would crashland on Vatari, who'd help repair it in exchange for reverse-engineering the technology for themselves. This would eventually lead to everyone having these ships for themselves, and discovering more and more Aurum planets. This current era of space travel has led to what is referred to as the 'Golden Age of Space Travel'.

Travel is limited to the Sidus galaxy, although due to things such as 'The Distant Signal', people do believe that other lifeforms are out there in other galaxies. Travel can take a long time. Distance between home planets is often a year or longer. To bridge this gap and help in repairs, space stations have been constructed and planted around the galaxy.

Space travel is rather hazardous. Risks such as debris, asteroids, piracy, warfare, accidents, or even simple malfunctions have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands throughout the 100 or so years of the Golden Age of Space Travel.

Fuel from space travel is often been perfected. The most common fuel is known as 'Xarium' which is a blue liquid found on most Aurum planets. Synthetic variants have been produced but are not as reliable or effective, but they are cheaper. Many believe will become more common in the future after Aurum planets have been exhausted.

Most commoners cannot afford space travel, although it is becoming more and more available. Those who travel to other home planets often do so for political or business reasons. Trading of various resources is another common reason for space travel, as Aurum planets in certain areas of the galaxies tend to supply different resources.
