Souvenir Merchandise

The glossy and lavishly illustrated 50 page brochure was flying off the stand at the major computing services trade fair. The company could probably have charged for them but the fact that they were giving them out free meant that almost everyone who was attending had availed themselves of a copy. And they were selling plenty of other merchandise. Coffee mugs, mouse mats, t-shirts, all emblazoned with the company logo and carefully selected photos of Debbi from her various appearances throughout the year !

Debbi was putting on a brave face, seated at a table and signing copies of the brochure. She was fully dressed in her business suit. This time she had resolutely refused to appear in a skimpy bikini as Diane had wanted. Diane had then made half hearted attempts to get Aditty to fulfil that role but that proved to be a non-starter.

Debbi's was something of a pyrrhic victory however, since not only was she surrounded by all this merchandise featuring revealing photographs of herself but the stand was also fronted by a twice life-size poster of her from the I.T. Manager's New Clothes fashion show. She found herself posing for selfies in front of this, as well as having to make small talk with several of her peers in the industry as she signed the brochures.

The trade fair was in London but Diane had also arranged for there to be a similar stand locally at the Christmas market in town. Together with the company Christmas card, which featured Debbi fully clothed on the front and revealed in the I.T. manager's new clothes inside, and a page on the company web site where merchandise could be purchased, it all made for a spectacular end to Debbi's morale boosting and profile raising year in the spotlight. Needless to say, all the staff at head office received a complimentary copy of the brochure, as well as customers who were unable to attend the trade fair.
