Chapter 239

What Are You Doing?
Soul Hunting
I put on a t-shirt and jeans, in case people see my uniform and get nosey. Then I leave my apartment, after storing my uniform in my inventory. I take out my Motorcycle and grow it when no one's looking. I then focus on Bergeth. I want to collect more of his Soul Fragments. I wanted to wait until I had more time. After all, the first one had Luna, I don't know what else is in the rest. But I haven't had any time with Ayashi and the Devils. So I'll just do it now. I feel a tugging sensation and hop on my bike. I follow it, having to turn often. As I get near a highway I fear it'll be further than I thought it'd be. I assumed they'd be close but now I'm not so sure. Fortunately, I don't have to get on the highway. The sensation gets stronger and I hop off. I store the bike away and walk down, well I'd best describe it as a hobo camp. There are a lot of tents and small huts put up all over the place. I see a few people sitting around or sleeping. Fortunately, they either don't care about me or I'm able to sneak around them. I eventually arrived at the spot, inside an empty tent. The flap is unzipped and open, so I quickly enter and close it. I'm about to enter the Dungeon when I get an idea. I decide to create three new Dungeons since they'll probably have new monsters. I then cast Enter Dungeon and appear in another forest. I look around, but as far as I can tell it's the same as the one I found Luna in. I start walking for a while, keeping an ear out for any howls. After a few minutes, I find the cave. This is odd, I haven't found any wolves or anything. Not only that, but this layout is exactly the same as Lunas forest. I think quickly before entering the cave. It has the same layout as Lunas except for one thing. The stone doorway that holds Bergeths statue, is at the opposite end of a large circular cavern. Next to the door is a large wolf man. He isn't a beast man, at least I don't think. They have fur covering their whole body and look like a werewolf from a fantasy game. They look like they're sleeping. I take out my armor, boots, claws, and horns before I Observe them, just in case.
Werewolf Lvl 50, Class: Brawler, Title: Guardian, RP: 0, Hearts: 0, Weak: None
HP: 5000/5000 MP: 1200/1200
The Werewolf immediately jumps up after I Observed him. It turns to me and starts growling. I slowly step forward and cast Ancient Beastial Strength.
"Hey there, any chance..." I start to say, hoping that I can talk with him like I did Luna. It cuts me off by howling, almost as loud as Bergeths. It jumps for me at a ridiculous speed with its claws ready to attack. I have to Blink to dodge without getting hit. It crashes into the wall and I turn to face it. It jumps out of the dust that was created and rushes me again. This time it's not as fast and I can manage to dodge. However, I can already tell that if I hadn't used Ancient Beastial Strength I'd have been too slow. I see him getting ready to jump at me again. I raise my Katana above my head and turn to my left before he jumps. I Blink to right behind me. I swing my blade down and feel it connect with the back of the Werewolf's neck. The wolf stops and I see the blade is stuck on the back of his neck. It hasn't cut into him at all, I can't even see any cut fur. He turns to me and I Blink away, a moment too late, and feel his claws dig into my side.

I feel my blood start flowing out and grit my teeth. It howls again and I try to figure out why I didn't cut him. Is his skin too tough? Or is it magic? He could use reinforcement magic to make his fur tougher. But I haven't sensed any magic being cast. Crap, he's coming. I need more time. I think before smiling. I Blink to get as far from him as I can. I see him turn to me before I cast Visit Prisma. I appear in front of the Primal Source tree. The familiar void of water surrounds me and I sigh, the pain of my wound vanishing instantly.
"What brings you here?" Prisma asks me while simultaneously floating out of the water.
"I needed time to think. I'm in the middle of a fight but my blade didn't cut him." I say while looking at my katana. Prisma nods and makes the screen of my body appear. On it is the Werewolf jumping for me slowly.
"Hmm, you have about an hour and a half. After that, the beast will be on top of you." He says and I nod. "You said something about not being able to cut him, what did you mean by that?"
"I swung my blade down on the back of its neck. But it didn't even cut its fur, let alone its flesh." I say a little frustrated.
"I think it's your blade then." He says confidently before explaining. "Your Katana is made with parts of Bergeth correct?" He asks and I nod. "The beast you're fighting is made of the same mana. It was originally a wolf that Bergeths soul turned into a guardian. So you can't cut him with a weapon of the same mana type. Sort of like how you can't drown water with water."
"So I need a different weapon. That's not good. I don't have one on me and I don't think I can escape the wolf, not with his speed." I say and Prisma smiles.
"Yes you do, don't you remember?" He says and I look at him confused. "Your School of Darkness lets you create a weapon." He says and I nearly facepalm. I had forgotten about that skill since the weapon created would do less than the one I have. "Speaking of your School, I want to talk to you about it. Why haven't you been discovering it?"
"What do you mean? I have, I've used my claws and boots in almost every battle. Not to mention Dark Chains, though I will admit. I should use Dark Spear more often, especially since my mana pool can now support the higher MP cost. Compared to other skills at least." I say, thinking the last part out loud.
"That's not what I mean. Let's see, how to explain this... Okay, so every School of magic has a limited number of spells. Think of it as slots, like your rings. You have ten fingers but you can only equip four. This is actually good because normally if you equipped more than two ring the magic in each would interrupt the others and they wouldn't give their benefits. Just like your rings, every School of magic has a limited spell count. Now that doesn't mean the spells are already determined. It just means that the School can't have more than a predetermined amount of spells or skills. So what I want to ask is why haven't you created more skills or spells?"
"Well, because I didn't know I still could. So far most schools I've used have only had a few spells or skills. I guess I just assumed that I had made all I could. Do you know how many spells I can still make?" I ask and he nods with a smile.
"You have five left, for a total of ten. Which is impressive, only one other School can come close at nine." He says and I nod before sheathing my Katana. I find it a bit odd that I still have it but not my wound, but I shrug it off.
