Sonic the Hedgehog

While the thought of seeing his rival detested him to his core, Shadow needed answers and if there was one hedgehog who would never forget the adventures he took it would be, his blue blur ally. Shadow thought about where he might be, and knew exactly where to look in an instant. Racing of another direction, he never noticed Rouge taking a quick look to say something else to Shadow, but Shadow had already left speeding off to Green Hill zone looking at around for the blue blur. It shouldn't be to hard he comes here often enough.

As if right on cue, Sonic was racing down Green Hill Zone enjoying his favorite hang out going at hyper speed. Shadow could not understand how he could be so happy all the time. He's faced trials and turmoil the world over and yet he's still there, still happy as can be. It was perplexing. Shadow shook his head and reminded himself of why he was here. He zoomed off to a place to relax and that's when Shadow made his own movement catching up to Sonic as fast as possible.

Sonic looked at him saying "Hey Shadow, long time no see." before looking out into the distance. "The fact you didn't challenge me to a race is a little weird so, what's up?" the blue blur asked as Shadow looking at him quietly. He can't believe this little blue pain in his rear. He knew he was there and chose to do nothing about it.

Shadow took a deep breath and sat down, "Listen, I need to talk to you." Sonic looked like he was getting ready for a fight or a race or some mission when Shadow said "I keep having these feelings, feelings like a memory of mine has been stolen or lost. Like an entire portion of my life is just now gone. The only other two I seem to remember being with me are you and Silver. Other than that, it's all a blur, Rouge saying something to me...Omega sounding depressed, something has been stolen from me, Sonic. I need to know."

Sonic bit his lip but knew he had to confess. "I was getting worried about this. Have you ever heard of the Kingdom of Solieana?" Shadow blinked a bit as Sonic said "It's a human kingdom far from here. It's lead by Prin...well now Queen Elise, and it's a tropical paradise." He sighed "A few years ago though, it was in big trouble," Shadow demanded that Sonic continue to explain more. "Eggman was after the emeralds again and this time they picked Soleana to be their place to stay at. A lot happened, but the main thing is there were these two creatures, Iblis," Shadow could only blankly stare at that as Sonic explained "And Mephiles the Dark."

Shadow's eyes went wide, he started to remember, remember this thing that came out of his shadow, him mocking Shadow for being ressurected by his 'shade' the insidious offer, him being thrown into the future, Omega, it all started to flood back as Sonic explained more, "Well, things got bad, Mephiles nearly killed me, but everyone banded together to save me with the Chaos Emeralds, you, me, and Silver went to fight this being known as Solaris." Shadow started to remember, remember him saying he would erase the chains of it's past, "In order to stop it, Elise and I extinguished the flame that created Solaris. Time sort of...corrected itself, and only I seemed to remember it all."

Shadow was about to say something in a rage that Sonic kept this from him before something flashed in all of the memories that came to him. They were on a beach, Omega was shooting at Mephiles who ran away. Omega brought up that sometimes when something becomes so powerful it becomes a threat, then the world becomes it's enemy. He wanted to be alone, wanted to just stop Mephiles and get it over with.

Then he heard Rouge say this "Even if you believe the world will be against you, know that I'll always be by your side. Remember that"

Past and Present met as Shadow repeated what he said back then "I will." Sonic looked at him in confusion as Shadow had to make another choice on what he'd do next. He needed to tell Rouge, that feeling he had back then is now flooding back. The feeling of comfort, warmth and even...Shadow dismissed that last part before it was said. However Rouge needed to know this, she was his best friend. But how should he go about this?
