Something in her pocket.

Sapphire looked closely and clearly saw that there was an item quite possibly from the store in the woman’s pocket of her coat. It looked all the more as if she was stealing, and that was something that would not be allowed under Sapphire’s watch. Sapphire started again,

“I’m sorry to have to ask you this Ma’am, but would you kindly empty your pockets of your coat?”

This time the woman didn’t turn around. She just stood there and quickly placed her hands inside the pockets, covering the item. Then she slowly turned around once more.

“What?” She asked quietly with feigned confusion on her face and pretending not to hear Sapphire.

“I said, I need you to empty your jacket pockets. I have reason to believe you have an item from the store.” Said Sapphire sternly.

“It’s…..not…I don’t have anything from here.” Came the reply, while she still hid the item with her hand deep in her pocket.

The orange coat almost glowed radiantly as the embarrassed girl stood there shifting nervously. She looked up at Sapphire pleading with her eyes to just let it go. But Sapphire would not.

“If you do not empty out your pockets, and show me the item you took, I will be **** to call the lot security and you will have to explain to them. I believe it best to not create a scene, Now show me!” Sapphire demanded.

The girl visibly slumped as if defeated. She could tell that Sapphire was not giving in, and was only escalating the situation. Again she shifted her eyes and glanced around. Tears seemed to appear on the scared girl’s face.

“Ok.” She mumbled. She slowly pulled her hand out with the item.
