Someones in trouble!

Jeff turns around to see a Spider Jockey running down another player who is desperately firing arrows at the monsters. Jeff thinks fast, "No weapons, no armor, full health. Hell with it, let's do this!"

Snow is thrown up behind him as he charges between trees to this strangers aid. As he leaps towards the beasts, the skeleton on the spiders back notices him and turns swiftly with bow and arrow raised.

"Too slow!" Jeff shouts as he throws a viscious right fist into the skeletons cheek. The blow knocks the head clean off with a crack of shattering neck. Its body falls back and fires its primed arrow harmlessly into the sky.

His heroics are short lived because his leap lands him on the spider's back. It bucks upwards with a screech, throwing the body of the headless rider and Jeff onto the ground with a dull crunch of compacting snow. The landing was hard, despite the illusion of soft snow. Jeff's exhilaration from the **** of the rider is tempered with the pain of a rough landing. His pulse was still good despite the damage but the spider wasn't finished with him and leaps on top of him with sharp fangs and taloned legs mauling.

"Get off, you bastard!" he roars as he tries to dislodge the spider with his fists and desperatly fends off the sharp bodyparts. The enraged spider would not be moved so easily. Jeff looks desperately for an escape but no openings are left for him to exploit. He hits the spider several times before a random arrow slices into the side of the spider's head. It squeels loudly into the landscape as it collapses on top of Jeff.

After corkscrewing the head with his hands to make sure that it was dead, Jeff forces the black, chitenous body off of himself. He didn't want to get up just yet. His pulse was down to five and tempting fate was never wise.
