Someone knocks on the door

Wait a minute, Mackenzie thought, why was there a thunderstorm outside? It had been broad daylight with clear skies when she entered the haunted house. That must mean that the windows and sound are a setup, which in turn must mean...

Oh god, they were back in the main part of the haunted house! Mackenzie didn't remember this room coming in, so that meant it must have been on the subbasement where few people went. On one hand, this was good since now in theory Mackenzie and Lana can get back to their clothes, or at least familiar territory. On the other hand, this now meant that there were probably other patrons walking around who could barge in on them at any time.

Other than the crawlspace, there was one door leading in and out of the library, which was thankfully closed at the moment. Noticing a deadbolt latch above the knob, Mackenzie went over to lock the door to if nothing else have some alone time with Lana to plan their next steps... and do other things.

Just as Mackenzie was up to the deadbolt, she heard a knocking sound coming from the other side.

"C- can I come in?" a voice called out with hesitation.

"Hold on, we're not decent!" Lana blurted out the girls' condition as Mackenzie glared at her.
