An old lady who got lost

"Oh, okay," the other side responded, "are you getting dressed in there?"

Boy did they wish they were!

"It... it's a long story..." Lana tried to defuse the situation.

"Well, I was in the haunted house," the voice continued, "and it was too scary for me. I turned around to go out but I got lost and now I don't know where I am! Now I think I'm in the basement. Are you with the park by any chance?"

Mackenzie felt relieved that the voice seemed like an old woman's voice and started butting in, "well, miss, we're currently occupied with something, but we left our costumes on another floor. We can guide you back out if you give us something to wear!"

Lana's jaw dropped at Mackenzie's genius improvisation. Hopefully the two could actually figure out the way out of the house.

"Well, I only have what I have on, but I'll see what we can do. My name is Mabel."

"Well, Mabel, it's a pleasure serving you today," Lana responded with as professional a tone as she could gather.

Mackenzie opened the door as she and Lana went out the library into the hallway.
