Someone else gets to her first

Before you can get out of your seat you notice someone walking towards Jane, it´s that handsome but smarmy guy you saw at the bar, the one who was bragging about being in the movie business.

He walks up to her and Jane turns towards him, by the angle you can still see her face and notice it goes from a drunken smile to a neutral puzzled one. You can´t hear what he´s saying but by the body language you can see that he´s laying it on thick as he bends over in a grand way as he says something to Jane.

You just watch for a second and notice by Jane´s body language that she´s receptive, after a while he even kisses her hand, this is very over the top and it looks like he´s using all of his charm, you notice him say something and wave his arm in a rainbow arch as Jane looks like she´s really flattered.

You watch them talk for a few minutes, the man leans over to Jane and whispers something to her, Jane looks at him and it´s like she´s thinking for a second before she nods her head. Jane then starts walking with him, you don´t like this, you drunkenly think that you really need to give her the glass of water you are holding, you get off your bar seat and start walking towards Jane and the man.

You pass the chasm, and notice Jane and the man, who has one arm around Jane´s waist, heading towards some bathrooms, right before he enters he looks backwards towards his friends, sticks his tongue out as he grins and gives them a thumbs up with the arm around Jane waist behind her back.

He and Jane then enter one of the empty bathrooms, while his friends cheer among themselves.

You don´t like this, you get filled with some kind of weird feeling, it´s not exactly possessiveness, but rather some kind of protectiveness, which is kind of silly because there probably isn´t anything that can threaten Jane, but she´s kind of drunk and is your friend, or at least was your friend, so you feel you can´t just stand by and let this happen.

You drunkenly walk up to the bathroom but one of his friends spots you, it´s the same guy that threatened you before, he notices you beelining for the bathroom and blocks you.

"What the fuck do you think you are doing!" He yells at you.

"Just walking through to go to the bathroom." you reply lamely, as you point at the one Jane and the man just entered.

"No you are not, its a private party, now fuck off!" He barks at you.

The rest of his friends have followed and are now standing behind him, you just stand there noticing the size difference between you and him holding a glass of water. A crowd starts gathering and one of his friends chants:

"Fight, fight, fight."

In you slightly drunk stupor you start to ponder how you are going to get past him, maybe throw the water in his face and hope you reach the bathroom before he recovers and frankly just stomps you.

He rubs his knuckles ready to pounce as he smirks and he sizes you up.
