Chapter 16 by TheDespaxas TheDespaxas

What does he find?

Somehow less than nothing.

After only a few seconds of looking around, K-T came to two conclusions. First, his aunt was right to say this place would be almost looted, most of the racks were empty or nearly so. He didn't have an abundant pool of clothes to search through. The second thing was that most of what there was was women's clothes. It made some sense since women were buying and getting rid of clothes way more often than men did.

He was trying to stay away from other customers as much as he could. He had noticed that among the other customers was a trio of girls his age and he didn't want to get too close to them.

He also noticed the cashier walking around the store with a label maker, putting new prices on items. At first he was happy that if some of the things were discounted he might get a better choice. But then he passed again in front of a big heavy winter cloak that he had hesitated to pick since it would eat all of his budget at 28$ and be awkward to wear alone in the middle of summer. It was now 35$ he couldn't afford it anymore. With such low inventory and a lot of demand the store was hiking the prices.

His hunt for some clothes was now a run against the clock as each minute some clothes escaped his budget or couldn't be bought as part of a full outfit.

He skipped all the dresses, skirts and definitely girly tops. He already had been humiliated way too often having to wear his sister's hand-me-downs. There had to be some male clothes he could buy. So far the only ones he had spotted were a full bin of kid's clothes for maybe 8 years old max, nothing he could fit in.

Until finally he found something promising. There was a series of waist height bins with random bits of clothing piled in them. One of them, not far from the corner of the store looked like it had men's clothes in it. Even better, he could stand between it and the wall and he would only be seen from the waist up by other customers if they approached.

Like in one of those scary video games, the cashier and her label maker was slowly making her way towards him. The first thing he found was a pair of pants that was big enough that more than 3 people his size could fit in them, there was no way he could keep them in place. He was in a hurry and relatively safe, so he decided to take a risk. He put down his cap to use both hands to look in the bin.

It was a lot easier now. He quickly found a few tops he could wear, two t-shirt and a sweater, sadly none of them was long enough to really cover him if he was bottomless. Still it was a victory to have found them before their prices could be hiked. He had them over the small of his left arm while he kept looking. The cashier had caught up with him and was putting new price tags on seemingly random items, but after a bit she left for another area.

Sadly for K-T the rest of the bin was full of kids clothes he wouldn't have a hope to fit in, things too big to stay on his body, useless things like socks and women clothes. He had to go find his sister, hoping that she had at least tried to find him something reasonable to wear.

"Oh My God, a Central City Black Roosters cap! And it's only 5 bucks!" he heard exclaimed by someone he had been too focused to hear approach.

Two of the worse things imaginable had happened, the three teenage girls had finally got to the same part of the store he was, and one of them had just picked the cap he had put down. The cap he had had been bought long ago at a garage sale, it was old merch from a pretty popular baseball team whose merch quality had gone down a decade ago after being sold to a new owner. Old items had become quite collectible.

"Hey, you can't take that, it's mine!" he reacted, bending over the bin to try to grab it back. But he was too slow and could not bend too much if he didn't want the three girls on the other side seeing that he was fully naked rather than topless.

"You snooze, you lose. I saw it first, it's mine. Thems the rules!" retorted the slutily dressed brunette who had his cap in hand.

"Yeah, everyone knows that if it's still on a rack or in a bin it's fair game." helped her red head friend wearing a sundress.

"No, I mean it's actually mine. I entered the store with it. You can't buy it." he explained.

"Stop lying just coz you missed it before I picked it. We saw you walking in from the back and your weren't wearing a cap at all." said the brunette. While they couldn't have seen all of him from afar, the fact that he saw them meant that they could at least see his head and he wasn't wearing a cap.

" Yeah and if it was yours there wouldn't be a price tag on it! " showed the third girl, a blonde wearing daisy dukes and a very small tank top without a bra that would have been needed. The visor of the cap had a 5$ label sticked on it. The cashier had tagged it while he was looking into the bin, and contrary to those three she knew full well that it was his property.

Sadly he couldn't go closer to the girls to get it back without being seen and one against three it might have not gone his way anyway.

He decided to drop the subject and pray that they would leave with their prize, letting him free to find his sister.

Can he find his sister, or do the girls mess with him more?
