Chapter 5 by JaJayCOolAid JaJayCOolAid

What setting does he switch the watch to?

Some More Experimenting First

Alex didn't like being ignored by his sister. He looked at the watch and tried to piece together what the symbols meant now that he had more information.

A smirking face represented the 'natural' setting at the top, and a neutral face represented the 'apathy' setting on the right.

The two settings he hadn't figured out yet were the sighing face on the left and the two laughing faces on the bottom.

He understood the general idea the two symbols meant, but he wanted to be sure.

However, Mackenzie and Natalie were not really the best subjects at the moment.

Looking around the watch, Alex found a small power button next to the minute hand dial. If that wasn't extremely obvious, then he didn't know what was.

Hoping that it would do what he thought it would, Alex pressed the button, and the watch flashed twice. He watched as the minute hand began to rotate around the watch-

And then disappear?

Well, at least that was confirmation that the effect was off.

Alex got his sister's attention, earning a reaction this time.

"Hey, I'm gonna go out for a bit. Text me if you need me."

Mackenzie looked up at him with a smile and then held her arms out for a hug.

"Alright, have fun."

Alex matched her smile and leaned down to hug her, squeezing her tight and kissing her on the cheek.

He would never admit it, but he was still a bit horny from the earlier encounter at the grocery store. It made him more aware of his sister's firm tits pressed against his chest. She wasn't wearing a bra, just a thin T-shirt. He knew because he could feel the nubs of her nipples poking him.

He pulled away from her and turned to leave, but was interrupted by Natalie, who also stuck her arms out for a hug.

"Hey! What about me?"

Chuckling, Alex leaned down and gave her a tight hug, too.

Compared to Mackenzie's firm and perky breasts, Natalie's were bigger and softer. He almost wanted to lie down and fall asleep in them.

Well, now he could thanks to the watch.

Alex gave Natalie a peck on the cheek as well and then got up to leave, this time for real.

Thinking of where he could go to test out other features of the watch, Alex checked the time (on his phone) before deciding to head over to the mall.

Before getting in his car, he texted Emily, the girl from the grocery store. He wanted to see if how he acted before he turned the abilities of the watch off had any lasting influence on her.

[Alex]: Hey, Emily! It's Alex, from the store.

[Emily]: Hey, Alex! What's up?

...

Alex kept texting her as he got in his car. He asked if she wanted to hang out tomorrow, Monday, after he got back from school. She enthusiastically agreed, and they made plans to meet up at a cafe near his school.

Like a responsible adult, Alex only drove to the mall once he had finished texting Emily. After spending a long time searching for a parking space, he entered the mall and looked around for someone to test the watch on.

Alex's eyes locked onto a woman walking into a lingerie store. More specifically, his eyes locked onto her plump ass filling out her jeans like a water balloon. For a second time today, Alex had to make sure he wasn't drooling.

Walking towards the store, he decided he was going to figure out how the hour hand worked. Since he started with the top N with the minute hand, he decided he'd do the same for the hour hand as well. Turning the dial so that the small hand pointed toward the top N, Alex tried to glean a hint from the symbol next to it.

And he had no idea what it could mean. What was a child supposed to signify?

He didn't want to waste time figuring it out. The woman could leave before he even had a chance to talk to her, after all.

Alex was getting frustrated. He was grateful that the old lady had given him this reality-bending power, but would it have hurt to also explain how it works?

"Ugh. Normally, things come with an instruction manual..."

Alex threw his hands down to his sides, trying to vent out his anger without causing a scene. His hand hit his pocket, and he heard a small crinkle.

He checked his pocket and found a folded piece of laminated paper. Confused, he pulled it open and was surprised to find that it was exactly what he wished for.

An instruction manual for the watch. That only explained things he already knew about.

Except for one new thing: that being what he assumed was the reason the manual had appeared in the first place. It explained how the hour hand worked. About how, if he said "Normally," what followed would be true. And how the current setting made that truth exist only from the point he made onward.

Interesting. Well, no time like the present.

What is his first Normality?
