Sneak attack!!!

Velvet Vixen explodes from the shadows like a glittering, furious banshee.

The nearest henchgirl doesn’t even have time to gasp before a golden boot connects with her temple, sending her sprawling to the museum floor with a crash and a faint whimper.

“Surprise, darlings!”

The second turns just in time to get an elbow to the gut—followed by a flurry of slaps, kicks, and mutual shrieking. Kendrick is not a trained fighter, but she fights dirty. The two crash into a decorative pedestal, then trip over her cursedly overdramatic cape and go rolling into a glass display case.

CRASH!

The case shatters. Velvet Vixen hits the ground hard, but her opponent lands headfirst into a suit of ceremonial armor and doesn’t get back up.

The lights immediately flicker red.

The museum’s alarm system begins to blare, klaxons echoing through the tiled halls as laser gridlines snap into place and steel security shutters hiss down behind them.

“W-Who puts motion sensors in a currency exhibit?!” Vixen shouts as she scrambles to her feet, brushing broken glass from her skirt.

Across the room, Cleo Capone freezes for one heartbeat as the shrieking sirens fill the air… then snarls.

“DAMN IT.”

She turns and flees, coat flaring dramatically as she bolts down a marble corridor lined with ancient vault doors and antique gold bars. Velvet Vixen watches her go, catching her breath, heart racing.

“Oh no you don’t…”
