Small less used path.

Path is the right word because most people would laugh if it was called a road. I have to take care where I walk to avoid roots, branches and holes on the ground. It is so narrow and at time ill defined that I fear a few times having lost before finding a few tracks showing me that I'm still on it.

I see and hear creatures in the dark woods surrounding me, wolves maybe. At least I hope they are wolves, there is far more dangerous lurking in these woods.

I'm about to stop for lunch when I smell some wood burning and see a plume of black smoke in the sky. It is on my way and I move forward it. It could seem strange but if the fire is still small there is hope I can extinguish it, if the whole forest burns with me trapped in it, it would be another matter.

As I approach the source of the smoke I notice that the fire didn't spread, as if it wasn't the forest burning but something else. It proves true when I reach a small clearing with a wooden hut burning and a strange show.

I spot a redhead girl wearing shredded rags that were a simple blue dress not long ago perched on a tall oaktree throwing large acorns at two men. The men are wearing dirty shirts and holding axes. They have no pants nor boots on, with their arses and wieners on display. One is trying (and failing) to climb the tree while the other is swinging his axe to the large trunk. (he can hope finish cutting it in a week or two at this pace).

None of them have seen me yet and I notice a bag far behind them, a lot closer to me than to them, probably holding their gear, provisions and the loot from their raid on the hut.

I could deal with those, surely the young girl would be grateful to be rescued.

Or maybe leave them be and sneak away with their stuff, after all this whole situation doesn't concern me.
