What happens next?

Sleepover Vibes

As Gray was walking on over to the girls, he had another thought for an experiment. One that might minorly embarrass one or more of the girls. But before he could walk across the empty stretch of floor to get to the girl’s side he was stopped.

“Oh, hey, its Gray!” A voice called out from the side. “That’s another familiar face.”

Gray turned to the one who had spoken and blinked in surprise. The person who had spoken was a friend from Gray’s previous combat school.

“Orrin!” Gray exclaimed. For a moment he was too stunned to believe that he had gone through almost the entire day without seeing any of his old classmates. Now, one popped up beside him with odd timing. “Damn. I was beginning to think I was the only one to make it in to Beacon.”

“Hey, don’t sound too disappointed now.” Orrin chided with a cheeky grin. He stood there with his hand on one hip, his dark green shoulder-length hair parted to one side. “You'll make it sound like you didn’t want to see us again.”

Orrin Verdell was a boy that Gray knew well from his old school, Lantern, along with a few other friends. It was honestly a surprise to Gray that he hadn’t seen them until now.

“Hey, maybe I didn’t.” Gray joked back with his own grin. Orrin just chuckled before raising his fist for a bumping.

Gray knocked knuckles with him before asking, “What about the others? Did they make it too?”

“Yeah, they’re all here. It’s just that we had to take the last airship out of Vale. So, we arrived last.” The green-haired boy said.

“So that’s why I didn’t see you.” Gray stated.

“Probably.” Orrin nodded. “Although, I did happen to catch a glimpse of you as you were leaving that little assembly.”

All of a sudden Orrin was by Gray’s side and poking him in the ribs.

“Who would have thought that you would find a group of cute girls to hang out with.” He said with sly grin.

Gray just chuckled and said, “Well, I had to make friends with someone. And I just so happened to meet a nice girl on the flight here. So, it just kinda... happened?”

“If only I could be so lucky.” Orrin lamented, shaking his head and straightening up. “But damn, it’s ridiculous how many cute girls there are in this school. And these are only the first years!” He said while taking a look over at the girl's side of the room.

“You’re not wrong there. I had no idea that so many girls wanted to be warriors.” Gray admitted. Even in a world full of Grimm and people with ridiculous powers, there were still a bunch of stereotypes that floated around. Like boys being more likely to choose to become Huntsmen and such. Not that there weren’t some prominent figures in history that were women, of course. “Though, I’m not complaining.”

And he wasn’t. The more fit girls with sexy bodies the better, in Gray’s humble opinion.

“I hear ya.” Orrin nodded sagely beside him. “Like, I was surprised to see this one girl. Long white hair, wore a white dress, looks like a princess. The most feminine girl I’ve ever seen.” That rang a bell in Gray’s head. “I was even more surprised to learn that she was a Schnee.” Gray raised an eyebrow at that.

“A Schnee? All the way from Atlas? Don’t they have their own school up there?” Gray asked incredulously. He also couldn’t shake the feeling that he already had the pleasure of “meeting” this Schnee.

“That’s what I thought, but apparently she’s the real deal.” Gray’s friend answered, just as incredulous as he was.

Gray was reminded of the pictures that he took of that girl in the girl’s toilet. He then got the urge to show Orrin the pictures to see if it was the girl he was talking about. Of course, it would be awkward if Orrin reacted to the illicit nature of the photo, but Gray thought it would be a good enough test to see if his Semblance could work through a picture. And, if Orrin did react as any person would then all Gray had to do was turn on his Semblance and tell him not to make a big deal out of it.

Problem solved.

There was still a short moment of hesitation before Gray took a breath and pulled out his scroll. “Do you mean this girl?” He asked, tapping on the screen and navigating to his picture folder.

Orrin perked up with interest and waited for Gray to show whatever he was about to reveal.

Gray tapped into his recent pictures and brought up the one where he was hugging the white-haired girl with one of his hands groping her breast. Without realizing it he held his breath before turning the scroll around to let Orrin have a look.

“Yeah, that’s the one!” Orrin exclaimed, nodding in confirmation. He made no comment on the fact that Gray appeared to be copping a feel. With anticipation Gray then swiped the screen so that the next picture came up. The one of him kissing the girl.

“Yep, that’s definitely her.” He confirmed again. He didn’t seem like he wanted to comment on the kiss.

Gray stepped it up a notch and swiped forward until the pictures with her on her knees licking his penis were on screen.

“...damn, that’s a cute face.” Orrin mumbles.

Gray eyes his friend for a moment before putting his scroll away. “So, yeah I met her.”

“See what I mean by real feminine?” Orrin asked, having snapped out of staring at the girls face on Gray's scroll.

Gray let out the breath that he didn’t even realize he had been holding. “Yeah, I get you. It’s difficult to imagine her fighting.”

Orrin just nodded in agreement.

“But she must have passed the entrance exam. Or got in with a recommendation.” Gray reasoned.

“Or her family paid off the school?” Orrin suggested with a sly smirk and a shrug.

Gray didn’t know if he could refute that possibility. The rich tended to get away with a lot of stuff. “Who knows, really?” He shrugged back.

“Anyway, where are you sleeping?” Orrin asked, nodding his head to indicate all the sleeping bags around them.

“Just over there.” Gray pointed back to where he had come from.

Orrin looked over for a moment. “Why not move over to where we are? It’ll be like the gangs back together.”

“I’d love to... but,” Gray started, looking over to the girls on the other side of the room.

Orrin glanced over too. He saw the blonde bombshell wave in their direction. Gray noticed that both Jeanne and Ruby were still a little bashful about something.

“Ohhh, I getcha.” He side-eyed Gray. “Hey, maybe you’ll want to introduce us to your new friends, hmm?”

Inside, Gray panicked a little and immediately turned on his Semblance. “You don’t really care about meeting them tonight.” He stated firmly, surprising himself with how defensive he was about other guys meeting those girls.

“Eh,” Orrin shrugged. His demeanor didn’t change drastically or anything. He seemed to naturally change his mind. “I guess you’re right.”

Gray sighed a little too heavily and turned his Semblance off. He might have felt a little guilty about doing that.

“Whatever, you go play with your girlfriends.” Orrin teased. “But when you’re done you can move your stuff over to our spot. Cool?”

“Cool.” Gray affirmed.

Orrin gave a friendly smack on the arm before taking his leave.

“Evening ladies.” Gray greeted them.

“Hey,” Said Jeanne, finding it difficult to look Gray in the eyes. She was sitting cross-legged on her sleeping bag next to Ruby. Her legs were quite bare as she wore shorts and a cute looking light blue hoodie that looked comfortable to sleep in.

“Good evening!” Pyrrha said cheerfully. She had a set of simple, yet form-fitting, red pajamas to match her hair. They weren’t scandalous by any means, but they did suit her form really well. She had her legs folded under her and to the side while she faced Jeanne and her new friends.

“Hello there,” Yang drawled, clearly checking Gray out. Yang had on a simple tank top and shorts combo. The top was orange, had a stylized flame Emblem on the chest and showed off less cleavage than her regular outfit. There was still quite a bit being shown off though. Like her midriff and the legs of course. She was lying on her side, head propped up by one hand.

Ruby just waved awkwardly. She had gotten up into a sitting position, hugging her pillow, as Gray approached. She had a black tank top with some kind of heart on the front that Gray only caught a glimpse of until she started hugging her pillow. Her pajama pants were white with roses all over them.

Damn. The sight of these four beautiful girls in their sleepwear was very exciting to see. Along with the other girls around them.

“So, what’s up? Why did you call me over?” Gray asked Yang as he gave her a wry grin at her obvious looks towards him.

“Oh, not much,” Yang begins, giving her best grin. “Just wanted to thank you for keeping my sister company on her first day. Thanks.”

Ruby blushed a little, unable to look up.

“It’s no biggie.” Gray replies, shrugging one shoulder. So, they really were sisters despite the lack of resemblance. “It was fun walking around together. Right, Jeanne?”

He looked at the blonde with airsickness, then at Ruby.

She immediately nodded her head. Smiling at Ruby, she said, “Of course. I really enjoyed it. I hope we can spend more time hanging out.”

Good, Jeanne got the message.

Finally, Ruby looked up at Jeanne and smiled shyly. “...yeah. I’d like that.”

Yang, the blonde with messy hair smiled broadly in silent thanks at both Gray and Jeanne.

So, with that out of the way, Gray sat down just in front of the girls and crossed his legs comfortably.

“So, I have a question,” He announced. The girls all looked to him with interest. “Do any of you have an idea what we’re doing tomorrow?”

The girls looked thoughtful while Ruby just said, “Initiation, right?” like it was obvious.

Gray smiled kindly at Ruby. “Yes, but what do you think that entails?”

Ruby bit her lip bashfully with a small blush on her pale cheeks. She then shrugged her shoulders, unable to come up with anything.

“Maybe we have to fight some Grimm!” Yang exclaimed. She clenched her fist and pretended to hit something in front of her.

“Sounds likely.” Gray nodded.

“Maybe we have to fight each other?” Jeanne asked tentatively.

“That also sounds likely,” Gray nodded again.

“How about an obstacle course?” Pyrrha suggested.

“That sounds fun actually.” Gray said with interest. He had taken part in a couple courses like that in the past and really enjoyed them. Gray felt confident that, with his particular skillset, he would ace most obstacle courses.

“Ooh! Maybe it could be a mixture of all those.” Yang said, sounding more excited than if it was just about fighting Grimm. “We might have to get through a course with Grimm along the way. And then, there could be a small tournament at the end.”

Jeanne gave Pyrrha a look. “You ready for another tournament Pyrr?”

Pyrrha giggled behind her hand. “Just more of the same I suppose.”

Did she fight in some tournament before? Gray didn’t really keep up with any sports or fighting events. Judging by Pyrrha’s armor from before, then she seemed to be a strong individual. Gray wondered how he would fare going up against her. He might have to take time to learn more about her weapons and fighting style first, though.

“If it ends up being a race then Ruby’s got it covered.” Yang bragged for her sister.

Ruby didn’t say anything but Gray could tell that she was a little embarrassed by that comment, judging by the sheepish look on her face.

“And why is that?” Gray asked. He had seen her in action yesterday but that didn’t exactly give him the best indication of her proficiency in a race.

“Her Semblance is all about speed! She can outpace a car, no problem.” Said the blonde sister, pride written across her face.

“T-That’s not exactly true...” Ruby said, trying to downplay what Yang had talked up.

“Eh.” Yang shrugged a shoulder. “Close enough.”

Being curious, Gray couldn’t help but ask. “What is your Semblance, Ruby?”

He said that while looking directly at her. Eye to eye. When she heard the question, she had turned to him, but couldn’t maintain eye contact and had to look away. She licked her lips nervously before trying to reply.

To Gray, she seemed to be more shy now than she was when they first met in front of the school. He didn’t pick up on it at first, but the more this conversation went on the more obvious it was. Gray remembered when Yang first waved over at him from across the ballroom. Both Ruby and Jeanne had seemed odd while Yang herself was grinning like she had done something funny.

He wondered if perhaps Yang had said something about him to tease the girls.

“Well, it is speed. But I can’t really use it for long stretches.” She explained, her eyes shifting from the floor to somewhere on his face, to his chest and then back to the floor. “Trying to outrun a car would be exhausting.”

“Still, I imagine it would be pretty useful in a fight.” Gray stated.

“It is!” Ruby nodded her head emphatically. “Definitely.”

“I have a question,” Jeanne said. “Though I don’t think any of us can answer, but how do you think our teams will be assigned?”

Gray decided to tune out for a bit and use his Semblance. Seeing the blur effect around his hands, Gray felt reassured once again by the knowledge that everyone's eyes would just pass over him. Leaving him essentially alone.

He took this time to really let his eyes wonder over the bodies of the girls in front of him. This was something that he wouldn’t have been able to do, even with Yang some moments ago. There was a difference between giving someone a once-over appreciation and just ogling their bodies lustfully. Now, under the cover of his Semblance he could drink in every curve.

“Maybe the professors will just analyze our strengths and put us together accordingly?” Pyrrha suggested.

Gray looked at the red-head and took in her long legs. Her thighs looked plump and sexy. Her hips seemed more pronounced in her pajamas. Her breasts were of a size larger than most of the girls that Gray knew from his old school, Yang being just a bit larger. The pajama top seemed to strain just slightly to keep Pyrrha contained.

“Or it could be random. Like a raffle sort of thing.” Yang offered up.

At the sight of Yang's bare legs Gray felt himself salivate a little. The shorts she wore were tight and barely covered her thighs. If Gray ever wanted to be suffocated by someone’s thighs it would be Yang's. Her stomach looked very tight and flat, with nice muscle definition too. And those breasts! Her tank top really seemed to be hugging those things.

“It could be, but I don’t think they would really leave it up to chance like that.” Jeanne replied with some skepticism.

Jeanne’s legs were the thing that really stood out to Gray at the moment. Since she was wearing a hoodie, he couldn’t tell all that much about her upper half, other than that she wasn’t small herself. Her smooth and slim legs, however, looked delicious. And yes, Gray knew how creepy that would sound if he had said it out loud. It was still true though.

“There could be some team-building exercises that help them decide official teams.” Pyrrha gave another suggestion.

Ruby let out a small groan when she heard that idea.

“Oh, come on Rubes!” Yang exclaimed with exasperation for her sister of dubious relation. “We all knew that this would happen before we enrolled. Heck, we even did team stuff back at Signal.”

“I know...” Ruby wined dejectedly. “I’m just bad with meeting new people. That’s all.”

Ruby was definitely the youngest of the four, if you couldn’t tell from her demeanor, but also because she was the shortest and more... petit? At least when it wasn’t about her bust. That was impressive enough for a girl as small as her. Although, now that Gray got to look at her like this, her hips were flaring out nicely. Maybe she had a nice ass to go with that chest? Gray couldn’t tell from the way she was sitting.

“Hey, you met us,” Jeanne told Ruby to try and boost her confidence.

Pyrrha and Yang also tried comforting Ruby but Gray ended up tuning them all out. He had noticed someone walk by in the background. That white-haired girl was walking through the mass of girls to find her own sleeping bag.

As his eyes traced over her he noticed that her face was clean of any of his present that he left her. And she didn’t seem angry or irritated about cleaning it up. Maybe Gray’s instructions for her to enjoy the taste actually stuck with her after he left her and turned off his Semblance. Gray would have to play around with that test a few more times to be sure. The rich kid eventually found her spot, which happened to be somewhat close to Ruby’s group, perhaps a few sleeping bags over.

“That girl...”

“You know her?”

Gray’s attention was pulled back to the girls in front of him. He thought that they might have noticed the Schnee girl as well, but as he looked at Ruby and Yang it turns out that they were looking at someone else.

Up against the wall, close to a side table with a three-pronged candlestick, sat a somewhat familiar girl with long black hair. It took Gray a moment to realize that it was that girl from the altercation with Ruby and the Schnee girl outside the school. She happened to be sitting close to Ruby’s group without any of them noticing till now.

The black-haired beauty with a bow was just reading a book to one side by candlelight, sitting in what looked like a Mistralian looking robe. It must have been her sleep attire. Her bright yellow eyes shifted across the page she was on.

“Not really,” Ruby told Yang and the others. Only Jeanne and Gray saw the girl at the time, if only briefly, but Ruby likely was too despairing and on the ground to notice. “She saw what happened this morning, but left before I could say anything.”

“Well... Why don’t we go say hi?” Yang suggested brightly.

Ruby’s eyes widened in a panic. “Why would we do that?! We really don’t have to, right?! I’ve already made friends here, look!”

She pointed to Jeanne and Pyrrha. She would have point at Gray too except he was still under the use of his Semblance.

“Yeah, but why should that stop you from making more friends?” Yang asked with the tone of someone asking about something obvious. “The more the merrier, right?”

Yang simply sat up from her lying position, but that made Ruby panic even more.

“Having a few great friends is better than having many good ones, that’s what Dad says!” Ruby asserted.

“Then let's try and have many great friends.” Yang threw back with a bright and patient smile.

“Now that’s just greedy!” Ruby accused, pointing at Yang. “No sister of mine should ever be so greedy.”

Yang just smirked at riling up her little sister.

As amusing as this was, Gray thought it could be funnier. So, he threw out his own suggestion. “Yang, why don’t you drag Ruby over there and introduce her? While we watch, of course.”

He immediately turned off his Semblance after saying that.

“Yeah! Great idea!” Yang hollered, jumping to her feet. She then grabbed her sisters' hand and pulled her up.

“Wait, wait, that’s not a great idea! It’s a bad idea!” And so went her lament as Ruby was then dragged away. Much to Gray’s amusement.

“Uhh...” Jeanne uttered worriedly as she observed Ruby being dragged out of her shell. By ****.

“Should we really not have gone with her?” Pyrrha asked, also worried.

Gray shrugged. “I’ve had enough of meeting new people for today. I’m all tuckered out.”

He leaned back on his hands; his eyes wondered back over to the Ice Queen on the other side. He was glad that she hadn’t noticed his little group yet. Hopefully she wouldn’t try anything even if she did.

Granted, they had been a bit loud. He wouldn’t be surprised if she had looked their way. However, the other surrounding girls didn’t seem all that bothered. Oh well, he thought.

“Do you think she’ll be alright?” Jeanne finally asked. Her worry for her new little reaper friend was unmistakable. The shy girl was a whole bundle of nerves right now.

“I think she’ll be fine. Her sister is with her.” Gray assured the other two. Although, Yang’s approach to getting Ruby to come out of her shell was a little worrying in and of itself. He shrugged again. “Besides, I kind of wanted to hear all about how you two met. Mistral, was it?”

“Ah, right,” Jeanne perked up, her attention moving away from Ruby finally. She glanced at the red head next to her for a moment, something unspoken passing between them, Pyrrha smiled softly and gave a small nod before Jeanne turned to Gray. “So, the kingdom of Mistral has these tournaments every year, right?”

This was news to Gray. It wasn’t anything surprising though. Vale did have something like that between schools sometimes. “Okay...”

Jeanne seemed like she could tell that Gray didn’t know, so she went on to elaborate.

“They’re not like here in Vale where a combat school will go up against another combat school occasionally. The one in Mistral is a big thing. Happens every year around the same time.” Jeanne explained. She looked at Gray quizzically. “Haven’t you heard of it?”

“Nope,” Gray said simply. “I don’t keep up with that sort of thing.”

“Oh, well,” She didn’t seem convinced. Maybe it was a big deal and maybe he had heard something about it in passing, but Gray honestly never cared much about what was on holovision. “Okay, so anyway, this tournament isn’t just between two schools. It's an event for all schools on Anima to compete in. Both Junior combat schools and Huntsman academies could fight in certain brackets. They even allowed foreign fighters to enter into portions of the tournament.”

That did sound pretty cool. Why didn’t Vale do something like that? Gray wondered.

“That’s where I come in,” Jeanne continued. “I visit family who live in Mistral and some of the cities around it. And it turns out that the tournament happened roughly the same time as my visits. So, two years ago, after just watching the event as an audience member, I thought “Why not compete?””

“She was very good, too.” Pyrrha piped in. She was just quietly listening until now.

“Thanks, but I’ve got nothing next to you,” Jeanne complimented back, a good-natured smirk on her face. She turned back to Gray. “That’s how we met. Going up against each other in a 1 v 1, two years in a row. And I didn’t win once.”

Her smirk turned a little self-deprecating there.

Pyrrha was about to say something to Jeanne but a commotion stole all three of their attention. They looked over to where Ruby and Yang were and saw the two wrestling and tussling. Gray was wondering how an introduction to someone could turn into a wrestling match when suddenly the Schnee girl stormed her way up to the unruly pair.

“What in the world is going on over here?!” She asked indignantly. “Don’t you realize some of us are trying to sleep?!”

Looking around, Gray did see that a lot of students had decided to turn in for the night.

Oh, not you again!!” All three, Ruby, Yang and the feminine icicle yelled at each other.

Well, that was definitely loud.

They all hushed themselves then, even if their hushed whispers were still loud. All Gray heard after that was Yang asking “What’s your problem with my sister?!”

There was some more squabbling before the black-haired girl blew out her candlestick, got up and walked away. Presumably to her sleeping bag.

“She’s right. I should probably go, too.” Gray mentioned to Jeanne and Pyrrha.

“Alright, have a good night.” Jeanne told him, tearing her eyes from the spectacle.

“Good night.” Pyrrha also said.

“Night.”

Gray got up and threaded his way through the mass of sleeping bags, found his, picked up everything and moved over to where Orrin said his old school mates were. He found them and was greeted warmly. They asked what the noise was about over on the girl’s side and he simply told them that the Schnee girl got mad at someone for being loud.

After settling down and catching up with friends Gray lay in his sleeping bag, scroll in hand. He decided to try and find the name of the Schnee girl, and considering that her family was rather famous he figured that it would be easy to look up. Sure enough he found an article about the youngest daughter, Weiss Schnee choosing to attend Beacon Academy over Atlas.

Weiss, huh.

She was going to be a handful. He knew it.

Though, he did have some nice memories of their encounter in the restroom.

Gray froze. He suddenly realized that he didn’t do any tests or try anything sexy with the girls.

Damn it.

He sighed.

Doesn’t matter. He had plenty of time to try things. It might be better to wait until he had an actual dorm room anyway.

He put his scroll away and turned over onto his side, hoping to catch a glimpse of the girls. All he saw was the darkened shapes of sleeping bags lying in the dark ballroom. Yang, Ruby and Weiss must have finally gone to bed.

He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

What happens in the morning?
