Sleeping in pieces

Loretta and Alyssa headed back to the lab, where Mark had busied himself in a bunch of machinery. By now it was getting dark, and Alyssa was feeling rather tired for some reason, so decided to call it a night. She had another bite to eat with Loretta, while chatting about their lives. Alyssa told Loretta about the intricacies of diving, and Loretta told Alyssa about she and Mark had met. A fairly uneventful story, as she called it, but one that they were proud of. It had never actually occurred to Alyssa yet that Mark and Loretta were married. She thought they were just partners.

After their chat, Alyssa proposed her idea for sleeping arrangements.

"So I have this vacuum bed thing in my room," Alyssa explained. "I suppose you have one here that I have to use as well?"

"Yes. We have our bedrooms just off the living quarters here. There's actually a guest bedroom for exactly this occasion."

"I was wondering, since I'm testing this device for you, did you want to be in pieces while I was asleep?"

Loretta's eyes lit up. "Of course! That's a great idea. Come here!" She grabbed Alyssa by the arm and pulled her into her bedroom, which had a black latex vac-bed in the middle of the room. It lay open waiting for her.

Loretta set the bed down horizontally, parallel to the floor, and then got to work pulling apart Alyssa. Her wrist rings were turned and her arms dropped to the floor. Loretta scooped them up and placed them on the bed, where Alyssa started to make them crawl around with the use of her fingers.

The rest of the arms came next, and they were placed towards either side of the bed. Then the lower legs, followed by the upper legs. Alyssa's head was then removed from her torso and positioned in the correct spot for alignment with the breathing tube. Lastly, Loretta separated Alyssa's waist and pelvis and placed them below. When it was all complete, Alyssa was laid out in several pieces across the bed.

"Comfortable?" Loretta asked.

"Now that we're doing this, I'm not entirely sure that it's safe..." Alyssa noted.

"You'll be fine as long as your head lines up with the breathing tube." Before Alyssa could voice any more protests, the bed was zipped up and Alyssa was trapped. Even if there had been a zip on the inside, neither hand would have been able to get all the way to it in time. Sure enough, as Alyssa attempted to send a hand to investigate the sides of the bed, the pump started, and the air was pulled out of the bed at an alarming rate. Before long, Alyssa's parts were vacuum sealed to the bed, each limb its own shape outlined in the latex fabric
